Blackberry pearl and blackberry data plan.

Ok, so I've been mulling over the blackberry pearl. Main thing holding me back is the cost of the data plan. I currently have a w300i with the 1600 national rate plan for talking and the old 20.00 signal link plan (I've had the plan for a while and I"ve never renewed my contract so I was apparently grandfathered in at 20.00). That gives me something like 150 mms and 3000 sms along with unlimited data transfer. So after fees and all of that jazz my bill is about 78.00 a month. If I dropped down to a 400 anytime minute plan with unlimited nights and weekends (which would drop my calling plan from 50.00 to 35.00 a month) then drop my signal link and just get the 1,000 texts plan for 10.00 a month that would bring my bill to about 52.00 a month ...

From a retail understanding the $30 blackberry plan is for consumers and the $50 blackberry plan is for business. From all the lit that I have seen there is no difference between the 2 except $30 gets the BIS network and $50 gets the BES network as long as the company you are using it for has the BES software running.

Rightfully said. And you can't get the $30 plan and try to get access to BES. We do monitor that stuff on provisioning and will shut that ass down if you tryin' to freeload. Make the best decision for yourself as far as what other features you want and also gauge for yourself on how many SMS and MMS do you actually send in a given month.

the blackberry plans do not come with sms or mms. only the email and bb messenger and email are covered. youwould have to get a sms package if you send alot of sms. that is the same with all carriers as well.

Yes you will have to change it, BB data plans are just for BB's....you will need to get on a signalink data plan....buut if they still have the contracts attached to BB plans you will have to pay that to have it terminated.

It depends on if they're on the legacy BB plans or the newer BB plans. If they're on the legacy, no breakage fee applies. If they're on the newer BB plan and it's been less than 6 months, you gettin' stuck if you take it off. The way you can tell is if you have the BB Communicator plan, which is the legacy feature.
