AT&T

Well folks its time for my 3 and 1/2 cents. I honestly think AT&T would be smart to keep us around. We have alot of pretty good reps. Our customer satisfaction rating is pretty high. They can dump all the Cell One customers on us and not have to worry about the overflow in their care units. We're 24 hours so they can boast that now! Lets hope we make the cut! I believe our destiny is in our hands so lets not slack off and miss out on this opportunity. Oh btw Go Bucs!!!

But one problem is, we would not have enough reps to cover AT&T's customer base unless our call center became AT&T's dedicated overnight crew. I mean jees, 60 million customers compared to our 1.7 million? With just usually 7-10 reps on at night, we get slammed most nights. Would hate to see the amount of calls we got with 61.7 million customer base. We still might not have enough reps to cover it though. But, I also hold out hope of being kept by AT&T after the takeover. Read this.

its been a while since i worked for cingular, but if its anything like it was when i was there (approx 2 years ago), they wouldnt notice if another 1.7 mil customers dropped into their customer base as far as customer care calls go. we were in que almost all day, every day.

I am worried that they will not keep your call center around. I mean they have HUGE call centers in their designated places. I have hopes that they will because a lot of people will be out of jobs. Good luck to you all back in Ohio.

Well there is absolutely no chance in At&t keep Cellular One around. If i recall Dobson sold Cellular One to At&t so that Cellular One customers will have access to the iPhone. If they kept Cellular One around, the customers would not have access to the iPhone since it is exclusive to at&t. Also a friend of mine that works at Cell One told me that At&t will have Cell One officially taken over by January 1st. What i mean when i say taken over is that all Cellular One stores and phones will be done and they will officially have at&t phones, stores, and plans.

Thats odd as I work for Cell One and we are being told that it may be done by Jan 1st but to expect more closer to the 1st quarter of 2008? Oh and I doubt the sole reasoning for Dobson selling out to AT&T was just so customers can have access to the I-Phone. Everett Dobson wasn't sitting in his throne watching an I-Phone commercial and thought to himself, "ya know, that would be great if I sold my company so that all my great customers could get the I-Phone." But it is an added benefit.

rumor has it that it could be very soon, as fast as legalities can take it. not sure how true it is, but the source is usually right on the mark. with the FCC about to start bidding for the 700 band, AT&T doesn't want any other distractions, thus trying to get the acquisition as fast as possible.

It tells anyone all they will need to know about the takeover. As of today, the sale has been approved and they are 43 days into the 180-day waiting period before the buyout can actually take place. Once the 180 days are up, the buyout will be done and say ByeBye to cell one.
