I really have no idea, however if your making this up right there was your biggest flaw. AT&T treats their indirects worse than their competition.

All I can say is if that is true, that is some BULLS**T!!! Its bad enough that Dobson already gave EVERYONE except Tech support (who deals with and handles BB's all day everyday) an opportunity to get a free Pearl and or free 8800.... Then they will not even let those of us who want to buy a Curve do so. Not even at RETAIL PRICE, no less... And then this s**T on top of it?!?!?!?!?! EFF THAT!!!!!!!

(sales force, this next part is going to make you mad...)
Now lets take into account how much special privileges the sales force already gets. I have one word, Commission... I have been in sales (so save any arguments you may have for what I am saying not being true. I have been in retail stores and customer care as well as retention an...

Easy there, techie! Dobson didn't give everyone an opportunity to get a free Pearl or 8800! Duh. We all had the chance to -buy- the pearl at standard discount, but NEVER the 8800, since it's a special order device for retail.
If I had to guess, and in speaking to a retail data sales manager for AT&T just today, the goal of putting the devices into the hands of the front line sales team is to better familiarize the sales distribution channels with the product. The latter keeps these "liars and cheats" from bothering...

Amen... I just want to add one thing to this. There is a 6 month period the customer has to keep the product or service for us to truly get paid. If we were all just lying to get people out the door with something, they would figure out that they were lied to. They would return or cancel, and we get a charge back and we dont get to keep the money.

I work for AT&T and we actually have whats called seeded devices for our front line sales teams. These are high end data phone that the company provides for each rep that they also replace every six weeks to ensure everyone is as knowedgeble as possible to correctly sell the products... And yes, it is really nice getting a nice phone every month and a half.
