ACTIVATION QUESTION !! HELP!

Mia

Ok, verizon is my carrier, I have a spare E815 that I'm not using, my best friend has cricket service. My question to you is, can this phone be re-programmed and activated on cricket? will cricket give me any crap even tho there is some kind of law by the fcc that says that as long as you have a phone compatible with the network (cdma in this instance), you can use any phone you please.
Can anyone answer this? thanks!

You may be able to activate this phone for cricket service. Many stores, at least the ones in the Colorado Springs area, do not flash the phones for CricKet service from other carriers. You can try and find someone who can "unlock" or flash phones for Cricket service. Keep in mind that Cricket does not guarantee that all services may not work on a non-cricket phone. But you can definately try to get that set up for your friend.

that would be awesome, she has the crappy audiovox 8910 and is making her miserable!lol she can't afford a better one right now, she's had that 8910 for over 2 years I think.. so that would make her real happy if I could work this out.

it can be done by a 3rd party dealer as in cellular renewal in the memphis market.

they have to load the cricket software
prl (PREFERRED ROAMING LIST)

AND other files that tell the phone which towers to lock onto.
