cause my tmobile plan is ending soon and i will be switching to cricket to save some money. But everyone says that cricket is horrible and gets no signal. is that true? also, i dont care about customer service, cause i rarely dealt with them while i had tmobile.

yes...it's very very true. The reason you'll be saving so much money is because you will get what you pay for. If you pay for cheap service then you will get cheap service. period. goodluck tho. 🙂

Cricket has good service. I dumped Alltel/Verizon 7 years ago for Cricket and will never go back to Att, Verizon, etc. Cricket has flat rate plans and most of the features that any other carrier has. You do have to buy the phone, but they have cheap/free phones. They have some high end phones too. As far as coverage, with the extended coverage areas, it is almost nation wide. Locally I can get a Cricket signal in places that has no Att or Verizon signal.
chocosong87 should not run his mouth about companies he knows nothing about.

If you want the crappiest phones ever then go to Cricket. Their $200 phones are the ones that Verizon ATT and Sprint give a way for free. You can't send mass text messages. Most of your forwards won't go through. It will send "duplicate text messages"

Cricket is actually a pretty good company. i've been a customer for 2 years, so far so good. uhhmm let me just share some things that you should know:

*cricket dont have grace period for the bill.If its your due date, its your due date. pay it or your line will be shut off.

*if phone will be shut off $10 reactivation fee will be added on top of the bill that you have to pay upfront.

*you just have to know how pay in advance works.

*you will pay the same bill every month this is for as long as you dont add or remove any service

FEES:
yeah just like any other company cricket also have some fees that you have to know which store reps dont inform their customers 4 the sake of having a sale! grr i hate dealers!!
anyways here are some of the fees that i know

* $15 to change the number, to upgrade phone and downgrade plan

* $1.25 for you to receive a bill (the paper bill just includes your bill no details of phone calls that was made)

* $5 to pay yourbill over the phone with a rep

* $2 to pay bill in the automated system

* $3 to pay your bill in the store ( they only have 2 ways for you to pay a bill which you will not be charge thatsmaking a payment online and sending your payment thru mail)

* $10 reactivation fee

hope this will help 🙂

Want great customer service and award winning coverage....$45 unlimited at US Cellular, with non of that fee bs...why should anyone pay money to pay a bill, thats credit card junkies there for ya. plus, better phones. I paid 10 bucks for the same phone that cricket charged 79.99. Do your research.

You must work for US Cellular. YOU need to do your research, They have flat rate plans from $35 to $60. There is a $15 charge for full HTML browsing on one phone (Motorola Evoke, and it is a junk phone IMO). Cricket has the best service im MY area. That is way fewer droped calls, good sound quality, and I can get a signal in places that Att and Alltel/Verizon can't. Oh yes, NO CONTRACTS.

Got pwnd... I've had cricKet for a while now and damn are they good. Sure some of the fees may be a bit out there but they are still a pretty good service. Just like oldgeek before me stated that service is a flat rate unless you are an intricate person with ADD and adding & removing features like crazy. They even have an ok selection on phones, which most are genuinely good phones, had a RAZR for 2 years and just now upgraded to a Hint. They both are working fine and correctly to this date. 😁

andrew, i would avoid boost like the plauge...that network is so over-worked it's amazing...sold boost for about 6 months and there were people getting text messages like 2 days later...as for cricket, i worked for cricket for about 2 years in cincinnati...the service is solid, the technology while not on the att verizon level is light years past boost and yeah there are some fees, but if you pay your bill on time, do it online and don't change your plan a whole lot it's not too bad...my recomendation is find a corp store and get to know a rep or a manager real well...those fees can be waived at thier discression and if it's a once in a blue moon thing and your a good customer they ussually take care of you...DO NOT use an indirect dealer!!!...

You should check out PagePlus Wireless...

The Unlimited Talk n Text plan offers unlimited domestic voice minutes, unlimited domestic text messages, and 20 Megabytes of data transfer. All this for $39.95 a month.

You can use any Verizon phone too.

Calls while roaming are .59 cents but it will be hard to find roaming on Verizons network now that we cover every interstate and highway and rural area almost in the US.

I don't think Cricket is all that horrible, no company is perfect and you can't please everybody. I personally like Cricket because they don't do the whole contracts thing, and I like not having to worry about minutes. I've had minute phones before and I hated having to worry about that. I've never had any problems with my bill, it's always been the same every month, and the customer service is reasonable (especially when the customer is being reasonable lol). I've read the other posting on here talking about if you talk more than an hour and a half Cricket will cut your call off and that's just totally absurd. I've had calls last a lot longer than that and not once has the call just ended for no reason. That posting just made me laugh with ...

totally agree with you! the customer service is decent and they won't hang up on you. And it really depends on the person. Unless you call 10 times and get 10 different people that are total d-bags than you can maybe say something about customer service.

And yeah everytime i hear something good about companies like this it makes me wonder if they are being paid to say this lol but really it is the truth, its a good carrier and i hope they keep it up.

I think if you happen to call your customer service line 10 times and get 10 d-bags then you should switch your service lol. I know I would lol. But I can understand when you hear a lot of bad stuff about a company you think that so many people can't be lying or wrong. And when you hear some people saying nothing but jelly beans and rainbows about a company you wonder if they work for them or something lol. But everybody also needs to realize that there will always be unhappy customers no matter what a company does, and it's usually those people that you hear because most people like to tell everybody how horrible something is or how ridiculous a company was, ya know? In my experience and opinion, if a customer is happy they usually don't go...

For what it's worth, I've had an excellent experience with Cricket for the past 9 years (primarily in the Knoxville market). I do not work for Cricket, nor have I ever had any affiliation. This is just my opinion

At first, the service was local only, so it was a trade-off between no roaming or paying for minute overage fees with traditional carriers. Obviously, local-only service did not suit people who traveled frequently, but for those of us who used a lot of local minutes (perhaps in business), and seldom traveled, it was a reasonable alternative to expensive high-minute plans from traditional carriers (of course, there were no unlimited plans from traditional carriers at that time). The only thing more expensive, of course, was goi...

i can't speak for other areas, but here in Phoenix, Az, Cricket is great! no kidding. the reception is great, the equipment is cool, and the price is unbeat.

i have a $45 plan that include unlimted talk, long distance calling, unlimited texting, unlimited data, unlimited picture mail, UNLIMITED 411 CALLS( i don't know anyone else who has that) voicemail, caller id, 3 way, unlimited texting to Mexico (don't need it, it's just there). and when i say it's $45, my bill is about $47/mo.

i have the messager touch, and cricket broadband card. the plan for the card costs me about $40/mo. and it works great.

Cricket is not as national as the other carriers, so if you travel a lot, you may want to reconsider. if you don't go outside you...

It really depends on your needs and area. My girlfriend uses Cricket. She has unlimited everything for $65/month. She lives in a very metro area and rarely travels out of it. Works great for her. Outside of that area, coverage is hit or miss. Additionally, phone selection is poor and expensive. Since you are not in a contract, you have to pay full price for the phone most of the time with no incentive for staying with them. This means you are stuck with an old crappy phone for a while. There is a market for there service, but if you do any kind if traveling, probably not for you.
