Adding data feature for flashed phone?

Activated an HTC PPC 6800 Mogul (was Sprint. Reflashed with Cricket ROM) on Cricket this weekend. Phone and SMS are working fine (after I programmed and activated it myself - store rep couldn't). Problem is I am stuck with a $35 basic plan for the moment as the rep in store informed me she cannot add web/MMS on a flashed phone (reason being these features would not work as it is a non-Cricket handset). She did tell me, however, that my plan could be changed over the phone with customer service. Seeing as this was an agent location and the rep seemed somewhat new at this (I used to work for Cingular and Alltel) I decided to sort it out later with customer service.

On the phone Customer service verifies these features cannot be added to acc...

well did you fully flashed the phone? because when its not fully flashed the phone usually do loose those feautures, regardless of what company you are going to, i know that because i bought an htc pro on a cricket store, and it was fully flashed and i can use data and mms, and basically everything that cricket offers,

and about the rep asking about video... well i'm not quite sure, 😕 why they told you that, but

The phone is fully flashed. Issue is Cricket won't add internet to my account because it is a flashed phone. How they know I can only guess as it was recently flashed and hasn't been on their network until I activated it.

Finally got around to calling CS again today. Rep on the phone was adding the feature then says she needs to put me on hold. Comes back in two min and tells me web isn't available in my area (Charlotte. Hahahaha... sure)!!!!!

I tell her I am looking at the EV-DO icon on my phone showing network availability and I know many people with web on Cricket, some of whom are in the room with me at work. Also they advertise web in my area.

Ask to speak to supervisor. On hold again for two minutes. Rep comes back and tells m...

The main reason that they cricket rep wont help you is that they are just focused on sells. Since you account as already been activated they don't want to spend time working on problems.I see this all the time. That is why they will tell you to call customer service or go to a bigger store. You also have to watch out for Cricket retail stores and Authorized Dealers. I have seen Dealers sell some really crappy phones. Saying they are fully flashed when they aren't. Like I said they are just out to make sells and nothing else. The make and model of a handset wont prevent a plan from being put onto any particular handset.I work for a cell phone company and even if the phone inst fully flashed I can still put a rate plan that as everything on it...

I have worked for Alltel and Cingular and have never ecountered anything as messed up as this,

I can understand not wanting to provide support for a phone like mine but at the same time I'm trying to give Cricket some ARPU here.... WTF?

Cricket CS on phone lying trying to say we don't have internet in this city? Come on now... ridiculous.

The agent that set me up is a retard. Missed out on sales of BT, Case, MicroSD card, etc... What if I wanted to add an extra line or two or three or more in the future?

I would call CS again and try to get someone more cooperative but who knows what notes they've already put on my account and don't need anything else negative on it. Can I just keep asking for supervisor of supervisor of supervi...

Yeah I would make there lives Hell. Its the fact they dont want to help or even care. I am sorry that you are having these problems. Like I said I have worked with cell phones for years and a phone flashed or not wont stop it from cetain rate plans. Cricket sucks pain out. I wouldn't say this just in spite that I work for a differant company. I have 45% of customer coming over from cricket. Reasons ranging from over priced rate plans to fee's for just changing a rate plan or number. The sad part of about this who thing is that the rep wants you to cancel and than restart, because regard less of everything that as already taken place. The get another sell which would be the activation.

well its crazy because i have a flashed phone that i bought directly from cricket and it works very good, i get everything that cricket offers and i believe it depends on the person that you get, and i mean if you don't like it then just dont pay the next bill, and at the beginning of the next month you wont have an account with cricket, your phone number will be gone though... jejeje that happend to me several times when ever i don't have money to pay it so you might want to try that
