It is my intuition that MetroPCS and/or Cricket will be acquired by Alltel.

How did I arrive at this conclusion?

1. Alltel has a comprehensive nationwide roaming agreement with Sprint, which was a wireless industry first. Their agreement Allowed Alltel customers to roam on the Sprint network in major metro areas and Sprint customers to roam on Alltel in rural areas.

read my response to your post in the other forum. Oh and one more to add it just doesn't allow sprint to roam in rural areas and alltel in metro areas. It allows them to roam anywhere the two has service and the other does not!

no verizon is 2nd on their priority list only when sprint is not available. And verizon does not allow evdo roaming on their networks so alltel won't allow them to roam on theirs.

ok well Verizon has had 1X roaming with AllTel for some time now. but evdo no. that is still tbd since july 1 2006 i believe. thats when sprint and AllTel made the deal. but alltel had the deal even before that with Verizon. And between Sprint and Verizon they do use each others towers. Verizon calls it there "extended network." but they both run off the same towers.

Most of vzw's extended network is Alltel. Many areas verizon has sprints network blocked out from the PRL.
