Re: cricKet in Texas
btw, i list these in priority order, at least IMO...
firstly, web access from the phone is limited to pages that are linked to from the cricket portal homepage...even if i go to google and search for the wap-site i want, the google search results only let me access a table-of-contents for the site...i've never been able to actually anter the site...
secondly, shopping for content (ringtones, wallpapers, games, etc) for my phone is an experience which can be likened to molesting a mongoose in a public zoo (i.e., i wouldn't know how, and even if i did, i wouldn't want to...much less would i want to ask someone how to), because all content is pre-paid. and there are over a dozen different stores to buy content through. you have to put money into a store before you can shop their inventory.
and finally, raoming is entirely pre-paid, and you lose what you don't use before the end of your billing cycle. at twenty cents a minute, some serious planning of some very important calls - that cannot be made without roaming - must be done in order to get your money's worth.
anyway, cricket has been great for me, because those three issues don't really affect me that much - i have internet at home and on my psp, i don't really care about download ing ringers (and the phone has a camera for backgrounds anyway), and i usually stay in town (if i go out of town it's only for a few days, and being out of pocket is not a big deal - there's always a land-line i can use). all in all, cricket is the perfect solution for my phone needs.
