It appears that cricket is going to start offering access to AIM, does anyone know anything about it? The press release said they would start offering it in December. Other carriers support it over SMS, I tried logging in but the message comes back as undelivered so its not there yet.

In response to myself it started working today (12/1), use the cingular instructions on aim.com

FROM WHAT WE HEARD ITS GONNA BE DOWNLOADABLE THROUGH THE CATALOG CONTENT CRICKET OFFERS FROM THE SLIDER AND THE 8900 AND IT WILL PROBABLY COST 5 BUCKS A MONTH FOR UNLIMITED USAGE

You just have to have the text message feature. The app is a nice front end to the sms but you can use any phone by sending a text to 265000 with usernamepassword in the message body

Try going to http://www.aim.com/ click on For you Cell Phone and try and setup aim forwarding on your number. If you don't get the confimation message its probably not active in your area
