I hear that USCC is launching a PCS network in Vermont and Western New Hampshire... Anyone have any info? I heard it was a buy out of Devon Communications bankrupted (never turned on network)... Anybody?

Check out www.markson.net, that site has more info on New England cell phones than all the other sites combined. According to Dave Markson, USCC is already live with PCS coverage in Rutland VT. I believe this is using the frequencies purchased from AT&T a while back (which may have been Devon's). As I recall, they owned the frequencies but never built them out, or at least didnt turn them on.

The PCS service will probably cover most of Vermont, but not the southern part, as that area (as well as all of Western NH) is already up and running with USCC CDMA digital at 800 Mhz, USCC does not need PCS there.

Yes, I believe these are Devon's licenses. Rutland has not officially launched yet, but their web site already has the coverage listed.
