iPhone 5 Coming to USCell!

I can wish can't I!? 😉

I have read all of the reasons why USCell did not go with previous iPhones (money, no LTE, etc.). But is there not a chance that if the new iPhone comes with LTE that they may sell their soul to Apple this time around?

Looks like you'll have to keep wishing or go to a competitor. According to Apple's own specs, it won't work on US Cellular's LTE network. That's very, very bad news. People that were waiting for this phone for USCC will not get it after all. I see a mass exodus in USCC's future. I guess US Cell could get a deal on the older i Ph4s and hope that keeps people. I don't see that happening though.

What clues might that be? There are no clues. For one, the iPh 5 won't even work on US Cellular's frequency band. US Cellular has pigeonholed themselves. They are somewhere in between a prepay and post pay operator and take the worst elements of each. They are like a prepay carrier in that they offer low end, crappy phones, but they are like a post pay carrier in their plans' high prices. They are priced like Verizon or AT&T without offering their phone selection. And they are like a post pay carrier in that they want you to sign an initial contract, but they are like a prepay in that they don't require a contract after the first one is fulfilled. I don't know who they are trying to compete with really and I don't think they do eithe...

I agree with what you're saying. I just looked up a lot of the phones USCC has on this site and see what you mean as far as US Cellular carrying prepay level phones: HTC One V offered by USCC, Cricket, & Virgin. Alcatel One offered by USCC and Virgin. Samsung Chrono offered by USCC and MetroPCS. LG Saber offered by USCC and Virgin. So I see what you're talking about. The company's phones are either exclusive (junk) to US Cell or are offed by prepay carriers along with US Cellular. The difference I see is if you get a low end phone from Metro PCS or Virgin, you'll be paying like $40 or $45 a month for unlimited minutes and text. You get that same low end phone on US Cellular and you'll be paying $70 or higher for a comparable plan. ...

Oh and I also noticed that hardly any of US Cellular's phones have dual core processors. Almost all are single core 1GHz or slower. The same type of smartphones that Verizon or AT&T carried 2 to 3 years ago. How do you expect to compete with them when the best you have to offer is a 1GHz single core phone while VZ and ATT have dual and even quad core phones? There's a reason why VZ can charge $80 a month. They have the equipment that people want. US Cell can't charge $80 a month like Verizon by offering today a phone that Verizon offered in 2009. 🤣

Yup that's what I'm saying. US Cellular needs to decide who they want to compete with. Either pick the "big 4" as you competitor or the prepay carriers as your competitor. If you pick the big 4 to go up against, then get the iPhone, get at least 10 different Android devices all with a minimum 1.2GHz dual core processors. Get a better and more upscale phone selection if that's who you're competing against. Get an upscale phone selection to match your upscale plan prices!

Or choose to keep your low level, entry level phones and compete against Boost, Metro PCS, Virgin Wireless, Assurance Wireless, Cricket, or Jitterbug. Keep your 600MHz to 1GHz single core processor Androids. Keep your bad phone selection, but also drop your plan pri...

I agree with what you're saying. I've noticed advertising in stores stating something like "save $300 a year over Verizon or AT&T" so they make it clear who they are competing with. Cricket, Leap, MetroPCS, Jitterbug could also make such a claim as well. Like you said, you can't compete with VZ or ATT using prepay level phones. Just look at all the various Droid Razrs VZ is selling. VZ has about 20 or so 4G phones. US Cell currently has 2 or 3 4G phones. US Cell has the Electrify 2 which is still a 3G model. Motorola really can't be bothered making phones for a carrier that orders phones by the hundreds vs carriers that order phones by the hundreds of thousands. I've read comments from users saying USCC is geared for older and geria...
