If customers leave US Cellular, or choose not to go to US Cellular, the lack of phones is one of the main reasons. I am sure that not having the Iphone was a factor, especially with the huge Iphone craze still being current.
I am not saying that the lack of the Iphone is the sole reason that they have lost customers. I am sure it is a variety of things that contributed to this.
Here are my thoughts...simply put. US Cellular is not growing customers. Turning down the most popular phone, when it specifically has the perception of not having good phones, is questionable. If it truly can not afford to do it; then there is no debate. If it is was truly a choice between getting a 4G network and getting the Iphone, I would choose the 4G network. However, I get the feeling is that US Cellular just does not want to gamble...which my point earlier is that doing the same things they are doing now is a greater gamble. Also, when C Spire gets the Iphone, is makes people wonder about US Cellular's decision.
One more thing...I said this before. I personally Android phones over the Iphone. However, when talking about having a popular selling product and comparing the two: the Iphone is one phone...Android is not one phone, but really an OS that different phones use. The reason that this is important is that when you collect all of the phones that are Android, yes it is now outselling the Iphone, but there is no one particular Android phone that does. Also the best selling Android phones, US Cellular gets either late or not at all (in most cases)...So making the statement that US Cellular does not need the Iphone because it has Android (from the standpoint that Android outsells the Iphone) is not really looking at things realistically or accurately.
