Does anyone know if the Motorola V710 will be coming to US Cellular? This is the type of phone I've been looking for and it is coming to Verizon soon. Who do we lobby to get this phone?

it all comes down to dollars and cents.. i just found out that there is no good way to lobby for phones because providers pay big money to have phones made striclty for themselves. i would love to see the v710 be carried by us cellular and with it being carried by verizon i would say that it could be a possibilitt...... but im not counting on it.

The thing is that the phone has to come out to Verizon first, and after it does, it should be going out for CDMA carriers such as UsCellular or Alltel, for example.

🙄

Well, for starters US Cellular does rather extensive testing on most new CDMA phones that are introduced to the public shortly after they receive FCC approval. Sad thing is, most phones do not meet/exceed their requirements. Either the phone has stability issues, battery issues, and most often connectivity issues with BREW (easyedge). This keeps a lot of "cool" phones out of the USCC line-up. However, there IS good news. Since technically any CDMA phone can be activated on their network, you could buy this phone at full retail price somewhere, and as long as it is unlocked then it can be programmed and activated. However, it may not intereact with the BREW (easyedge) applications properly.

The bad news: If you read the V710 Forum, all the guys with Verizon are talking about how slow they are in bringing phones to market. May of this year is considered optomistic.
