Voicemail Assistance

I've been searching for a Voicemail Menu Matrix for US Cellular phones. If an employee has access to one, could you please post it here?

More specifically, right now I'm looking to make the voice after the greeting, the ones that tells people how to leave a message, to go away. However, having the full matrix would be useful for future questions.

I see a lot of talk about 'believing', and a lot of talk about excellent customer service, but a legitimate question goes unnoticed.

To be fair, that is a flip on the modern cellphone carrier which is breaking their neck to improve customer service.

Seriously though, does anybody know how to turn the automated recording off?

Sorry man, I don't get on much and hadn't seen this. Honestly I don't know. I can agree it is annoying when I call someone, but it doesn't effect me when someone calls me so I've never bothered trying to get it off my own voicemail settings.

If I find anything I'll post it up here.

It's actually for my mother, she cannot stand that little voice telling people what to do (even though she never hears it herself). Tried several options and just cannot find it, figured finding a menu matrix would be easiest for future reference... 😁

Hey there! Just an fyi... I know it doesn't take away the recording if callers don't know this... but a way for them to bypass the recording is to just press the # key when the greeting starts. It will go straight to the 'beep' after pressing it no matter where they are in the recording. I wish I knew of a way to take it off of there too, but haven't found one yet.

Yeah, we know about '#', but it makes her voicemail greeting just an extension of the recording. "Hi there, please leave your name and number, and be sure to press '#' if you don't want to hear a paragraph of instructions on basic phone use."

Still seems not a single US Cellular rep knows the voicemail options for their service.

If I Believe, will it begin working?

This voicemail question isn't a problem. This is just a personal preference you want, not a pressing issue. I'm going to continue learning but this isn't on the top of my list.

One thing I do know, these whole voice mail systems keep going from bad to worse. Now you have to listen to your oldest messages first instead of your newest first. Now you have to listen to the whole "you have a message from 919..." and you can't bypass that readout. Now you can't forward your messages on to anyone other than USCC customers. Now you are forced to record a tag message when you forward on a message when you didn't have to on the older systems. Yes, the voice mail system keeps getting worse every time it's "upgraded." They should just get rid of the whole annoying voice mail system all together.

While I can't find a printed matrix of menu options for Lucent's Anypath system (Lucent doesn't seem to have published one) here's US Cellular's overview and most frequently used instructions: http://www.uscellular.com/services/voice-mail /voice-mail-instructions-anypath.html

there is not a way for you to do it yourself. However if you call into customer service and ask to be transfered to the technical assistance department and explain what you want. They will and should be able to do what it is youre asking.
