US Cellular Employees Take Large Paycut!!!!!!!!!!

by usccblood    Dec 1, 2010, 7:49 PM

Just announced minutes ago, a change in commissions has caused an uproar within the company. Every employee took a hit with the new belief plan as they are no longer paid for phones sold to customers already on the belief plan. Now an additional pay-cut comes just before the Christmas holidays. US Cellular employees are now no longer paid for, nor receive credit for customers that are on old plans. Employees are now only paid to switch customers over to the new belief plans, and paid for new customers. Even new customers don't pay that well as employees make only $9 to $21 per customer as apposed to the previous plan where they made over $100 in some cases for accounts. Unfortunately US Cellular has not added the amount of customers that they have originally thought they would have under the new belief plan. With these new changes employees face average losses of $5,000 to $10,000 yearly to their once generous pay. The company has literally given the middle finger to all of its sales employees, and from the few that I have spoken with a majority of them are looking for new jobs. I would expect to see a decrease in employee morale within retail stores, and possibly even a loss of customers as well. This is an example of what not to do to your employees that make you who you are.

On a separate note, the 2nd annual week long Thanksgiving sale was a failure. Store traffic was not even near half of what it was at the sale last year. Phone sales were only on a few Androids, and sales were down dramatically. I am sure that the company attempted to put a positive spin on it for those that did not get to see the lack of traffic. This company appears to be hanging themselves with the belief plan, and their employees. Instead of believing in something better, employees are not praying for something better. I feel sorry for the employees of US Cellular, and I thank the select few that gave me this story to post. Be proud of your carrier US Cellular customers!
