If you're not a customer then why worry about it?

I've been noticing a lot of people being very negative on here lately about USCC and their new marketing strategy. The thing that really gets me is that for the most part it appears as though the people most opposed to it aren't even USCC customers.

If it doesn't effect you or if the companies so small and destined to fail why even waste your time posting about it?

I've seen threads where the Belief project has been refered to as religious and put on a biblical plateau. Come on people lets not let our imaginations direct conversations about a regional based cell phone carrier. As all of you have said USCC is a small company compared to the big boys and the Belief project is just a way for them to set themselve apart in the industry...

I think many are negative about it because they see through all the BS. I think most people on here are actual customers. Why would they waste their time going on a website to write about a company they don't even have? Belief project does have a quasi-religious name to it, that's why they poke fun of it. However, USCC is being a secular religion in their term belief project. So all in all, the belief project is a marketing strategy (otherwise known as a gimmick) to get attention to their company. Maybe a select few customers do benefit, but most, overall do not and it will actually increase their bills. In these tough times and the direction other carriers (prepay for the most part) are going to unlimited minutes/text/web for $50, se...

EXCELLENT post, mobilemadness, and very well written. The new plans are really not competitive with what you get with other carriers. I was looking to switch to USCC, but will not now because of the new crappy plans.

Thanks for your comment mobilemadness, I don't know if most of them are actual US Cellular customers. There are a lot of people who argue just to argue, especially in the forum world. To say US Cellular is being a secular religion because they coined the belief project i feel is a bit of a leap. belief is defined as the mental state or act of placing trust in another. to most christians or any religious person that may take you to your trust in god but in this instance US Cellular would be talking about their belief in customer service. The belief plans are meant to do numerous things. the most of which are to drive growth and profit for the company while providing a simplistic plan structure that customers have been asking for. So i gues...

Oh and I would like to say that USCC reps please please please stop coming on these forums and just spewing what your managers tell you. Its fine to believe in what you do but when you preach corporate jargon it only hurts your company.

"providing a simplistic plan structure that customers have been asking for":
Just like the old saying goes, be careful what you ask for, you just might get it. The trade off of simpler plans means less customization, less personalization of plans to suit the individual's need. People are getting bundled choices in a "3 sizes fit all" scheme. Also, the prices have went up on the new plans. If prices went down, then I think more people would be excited about the new plans. Yes, you get perks like rewards points, but it equals out the same when you pay $15-$20 a month more in price. In 10 months, you've paid $150 to $200 more which would pay for a phone outright. Personally, I would rather pocket that money than pay it to USCC to get a n...

I think USCC has been listening to some of the mutterings, though, because this morning they added a new 69.99 individual plan with data/texting and fewer (450) voice minutes, plus the usual goodies (unlimited incoming, n/w, etc).

This has swayed me (as a current US Cellular customer) to stay because not only is it cheaper than the only other decent coverage provider in my area (Verizon), it's cheaper than my current USCC rate. (I don't need the extra minutes.)

Thanks for listening, US Cellular.

Oh and as far as the OP, personally I've found some of the comments from noncustomers funny, not nearly as annoying as the comments of the employees.

Otherwise, I'd just be trolling the 8 dealers that Believe that USCC is going to turn cell service on it's HEAD.

And it's funny to suggest to people that they should Believe too, regardless of Forum.

How many carriers that you know of are prospering with a $50 unlimited everything?
Cricket??? Boost??? Cricket is looking to merge w/Metro PCS because of thier finances.

I hate to do this again but take your typical unlimited plan...$69.99 AT&T, VZW, USCC done

ADD unlimited text, thats $20 all the way around.

ADD smart phone data ATT=25, VZW=30 ours $20

So if my math skills do not fail me;
AT&T=$115, VZW=$120 and USCC=$109

Now since you just purchased a smart phone, which is the highest trend out there your going to need insurance...AT&T is $5 and VZW is $8.

Thats now AT&T @ 120 and VWZ @ 128, USCC is still @ $109 because the insurance is built into the plan.

Going back to what i have said before...
The typical 39.99...

Sprint has become super competitive in the past couple of years the only problem is they've wasted so much money on their Wimax network (which they are now abandoning) and haven't bothered to build up their voice network. At least in my neck of the woods their phones always drop calls unless you are driving down the freeway.
