This would be a link to the countdown to the Launch of the belief project. It's going to be pretty spectacular! I cannot wait 🙂 Keep an eye on that link....its going to have stuff added as October 1st gets closer!!

On that page you will be able to watch videos of how the company is rolling out the big news...you can also request the mobile van to come to you for free coffee and pastries...and take a daily poll! All to help build the buzz about what is about to happen!

What is about to happen?

What is the 'belief' project?

Sounds religious.

I love optimistic employees!

For the thousandth time... US Cellular is NOT large enough to do anything industry changing!!!

Prepare to be disappointed by the "big" news (like you always are by US Cellular!)

optimistic employee? Try either a company shill, or a phone support/store salesman minimum wage scrub posting here trying to be important.

There is absolutely nothing industry changing going on, in my opinion it's more likely to piss people off, customers and agents alike. I'd be happy to post why in a few days.

US cellular is losing post pay customers faster than they can add them, look at their last financials. If it wasn't for pre paid they would have had a net loss. US Cellular is hurting big time and this is a misguided effort to stave that loss off. Frankly i think whomever makes decisions at US Cellular has no grip on reality and gears their products to the wrong customers. They are gearing towards the "trendy" internet sa...

Well, I guess on the 1st we'll see just how much we change things up. I know and have great confidence that US Cellular is going to be doing great things for our customers. I've been here for more than 3 years and have not seen them make a decision that could not be backed up with reasons as to why.

If we were really in such a bad spot, would Forbes have made us the ONLY cellular carrier to be on their top 100 most trusted businesses? No.

whoopee? That forbes list really means what in the grand scheme of things? Like customers are suddenly going to go "omg we have to switch they are the most trusted according to forbes!"

Those lists mean about as much as people magazines annual list of most beautiful people.

If US Cellular is so great, explain this. From their 2nd quarter financial report.

7,000 retail net additions, reflecting a gain of 29,000 prepaid customers and a loss of 22,000 postpaid customers.

If it wasn't for prepaid.... You are hemorrhaging post pay customers for a reason i'd guess eh?

You say us cellular doesn't do anything without a reason backing it up. This should explain why you recently jacked up the price of smart phones 5 bucks from 24.9...

I am not paid to do this, no. I also do not work in a store but in one of our customer service call centers. I post here because I believe in this company and what it stands for, not because some supervisor is standing over me telling me to do so. And I promise you - no matter what position you work in the company, all of our associates are excited about this. If we weren't passionate about what we do, US Cellular would not have hired us in the first place. 😁

If I were the man I was five years ago, I'd take a 'flamethrower' to this place! But I'm too old and too damn tired.

You will see the light soon enough buddy. US Cellular is a sinking ship. Take a suggestion and jump while you can.

P.S. If speaking a different view than the general consensus makes me a troll, then so be it. I guess I can take the role of the forum martyr.

The forums here are to help people and answer questions people have. All you do is say "sinking ship", "foolish employees", "whine whine, whine whine". If you had anything worth listening to I'd be glad to hear it.

You are obviously an associate for another carrier, my guess AT&T. And since there is hardly ever anything good going on with AT&T nowadays you have to try and bring another carrier's forum down with negative views and opinions. Nothing positive ever comes out of your mouth which is why nothing positive is ever returned to you.

Also, a martyr dies, dies holding onto a belief they have. You are not a martyr, you are the forum pariah.

Actually I am a US Cellular employee, for a short time longer (and yes, by my choice).

Maybe some of my comments have been harsh; however, I speak the truth. If you don't like it, move on.

You know 8091nafsbuc, Joshiwa is right! Here you come off sounding like you are an employee of another carrier, badmouthing those of another on "their" forum, when if simple easy to get to info retrieved from each carriers website tells anyone and everyone the truth. U.S Cell offers better prices, cheaper airtime, free incoming messeges, cheaper web and email pkgs with GPS, outstanding customer service. Hell even their phones are getting more competetive 2 really good androids, HTC Desire and Samsung Acclaim with the Galaxy S coming out this month and 2 more LG androids in the wing. My point is why be such a hater towards a company that actually gives you something and is still profitable, not the overpriced debt laden companies that are the...

I dunno if he's an employee of another company. Wasting his time here on this small time forum that has very little activity would be silly.

But your truth is a little iffy. US Cell doesn't do all the things you list. In many cases verizon is cheaper for airtime, they are definately cheaper on phones by a landslide and have a better selection. Cheaper web and email, at the moment is correct, but that my navigator is freaking stupid. Especially when they recently upped the prices of data from 24 to 30 and tried to justify it by saying my navigator was included.

Who the hell needs my navigator on an android phone? the google nav and google maps is far superior. So can i have the option of still paying 24.95 and not have my nav? ...

When is Verizon cheaper on airtime? I haven't come across a plan of theirs that USC doens't match or beat. I don't know Verizon prepaid very well though.

As far as my navigator. Testing our company has done shows that the My Navigator programs is more accurate and more reliable than the google maps that comes stock on the phone. I don't think the $30 data plans were just for the My Nav program though. I understood it to be consistent with what the rest of the wireless industry is doing, USC just added something with the price change.

Truth be told, I am an employee for US Cellular, for a short time longer (by choice).

All of what you say is the well informed truth and I commend you for sticking to your guns on these forums.

Sinking ship... maybe not. But being purchased by a competitor is pretty damn close. And I can se that happening in the not so distant future.

Well to those who are customers making the Forbes List basically supports what we already knew, that U.S. Cellular is a great company with outstanding customer service and a fantastic reputation. As far as the dip in customers dont worry about us we`ll be doing fine once the lemmings who signed up with Att, and eventually Verizon realize that a smartphone is just a pretty paper weight when you are scared of the cost of using it. As far as that extra $5 on our data plan I`m sorry to break your bubble but we got the same GPS Nav program that Att offers- but it costs an extra $9.99 for them- now thats what I call gouging-do you want to use your calculator on that vandinrot!

VErizon also charges an additional $9.95/mo. for the SAME TeleNav based GPS that US Cellular offers along with their 5GB Data package for $30.00.

I absolutely disagree... as a USCC Associate I can honestly tell you that is not our strategy at all. We do not key in on one specific demographic but have instead picked up on an INDUSTRY WIDE trend towards data phones. This is the future, and I think that the idea that those customers who live in rural areas cant handle the advancements or do not want them is completely off base. I cant tell you how many farmers I have talked to who absolutely love using their accuweather app to keep up to date.. data is the future of the industry. The changes that are coming Oct 1 are coming because we listened to what our customers wanted and responded - I think you will be pleasantly surprised. 🙂

Not trying to shoot you down Vandinroth - we wil...

Yes our numbers may have been down last year but we are about to lauch something that is going to get all of those customers back and then some. I truly believe that. I know that every single one of our associates are very passionate about their job!

I think its kind of interesting that on thebeliefproject.net our competitors have their associates monitoring it trying to find out any leeked information.

Methinks we have gotten their attention...and that they are worried 🙂 as they should be.

I have been with U.S.Cellular in Chicago since 2002. I have been very happy with service and price. I was in store this past Saturday I was do for upgrade on my phones I had 2 LG banters so I decided it was time to get some phones with some internet. I went with 2 samsung caliber 850.
So far the phones are great good call reception and internet seems fast. After singing the paperwork for the phones the sales associate told me on 10/01 that they would be doing something new and said she would be calling me?? I said should we tear up them contracts and wait?? I kept asking what was going on she was tight lipped!!! She would not give me any info, so I have 30 days to try out phones so here I wait till Friday I hope I am not disappointed!!!

This is true on some level, we aim for customers who are looking for quality and willing to pay for that.

We also target customers who actually use their phones and pay their bills 🙂.

Every company, especially large, has target customers. This is nothing new or alien. In fact, most business plans require a target customer base.

A couple things on the last two posts.

The first thing I would like to point out is the unhealthy obsession with being a USC naysayer, I would like to say "Thank You" to those arm-chair critics for contributing absolutely nothing.

Second, as a USC corporate employee, I am probably on the lower-end of the "optimism" scale and I am still excited about this program on so many levels. There is nothing like it out there.

Third, in regards to the comments about the "losing customers", we have low churn compared to the other companies, if you don't know what churn is, look it up because I am sure you don't.

Finally, the personal attacks on US Cellular are just plain weird. To say that Service Techs and Sales people earn minimum wage...
