OMG!! The big reveal. What a load of crap. What will it take for people working at USCC to figure it's another brainwashing event. Change the industry? Are you kidding me, if US can't change there equipment problem do you honestly think they are going to change the industry. I could find out in a few hours what it's all about, but I know it's nothing big so why even make the call. Don't get your hopes up people, just more BS.

Mythos 2010 is a follow-up to Mythos which was launched as a biz strategy to relate to US Cellular's target customers.

Mythos was a huge failure as the company had too much trust in the ability for a 2nd rate company to compel at the core of a customer for allowing them to make a call.

2010 will be more of the same except in a new way, and programs to make them appear more inviting, new data plans, phone swaps, new National plans, etc.

As a company-owned retail employee, we have known details since June of this year and now have all the information regarding the changes that will occur October 1.

Although I can not, nor would I if I could, give specific details about what changes are going to occur, I can say that:

- The changes that will occur are breaking new ground as far as post-paid service from a cell phone company as large as USC. The concept changes the business model that we have known since the beginning of the industry.
- I have seen a few posts on here that have touched on SOME of the changes that are occurring, but have been dismissed as "impossible".
- A lot of customers will get what they have been asking for for years (and sales associa...

When I said "This is INCORRECT info...." I was referring to what I posted afterwards. I copy and pasted the rest of the message. And that info is completely incorrect. I am a CSR for USCC and any associates on here discussing "whats coming" are leaking private (wether it be true or not) information and should reconsider their purpose and loyalty as a so called "USCC Employee". Suggesting hints, DATES, or any other info about this project could cost you your job. And quite frankly, if you can't keep your commitment to USCC then you should find another employer. So, anyways...to customers:if you are believing a so called "USCC employee" and they are breaking the rules...doesn't that ruin their creditability? I would rethink that situation.

So you are saying that Mythos will come in time for Xmas? 😲
My question is why the delay? What needs to be done that it is taking so long. Does top level management need more time to sell their stock? 😳

I totally agree with the Christmas present idea! lol... Theres not really a "delay" in anything, there's a set launch date and people leaked info out too soon which caused evveryone to ask questions. Just hold on tight we are almost there! Trust me i cant wait either!! 😁

After reading many peoples replies, I have a question. I don't know if Mythos 2010 will be good or not, because I dont know the details. But assuming it is the greatest thing since sliced bread, why do some people (more than likely USCC associates) feel like it will be an industry changer? How does a company with 7 million or so customers, which only operates in some markets across the country (and not in most of the largest markets), going to be so influential that it will drastically affect companies up to 13x larger than them?

Whatever USCC does, it may do good in the markets they cover. But in the big picture, I cant see it making any difference. Ive seen regional carriers do many kinds of crazy plans and promotions, that are goo...

You're not going to get them to say much. There is big time secrecy on this but I do agree with you that it seems unlikely that this will turn out to be anything industry changing.
I suspect we will know around November what the deal is and if it was worth the hype. Best advice for now is just ignore it all and don't build up your expectations.

I agree. I think the intent is good, but will it be enough to change the industry? Probably not. A regional carrier that is primarily selling service in rural areas that the big 4 aren't concerned with isn't going to do much. USCC provides service in areas the other 4 don't even care to provide decent service to. The big 4 are concerned with big markets that have high populations and have a better justification for building out their service network. And if USCC's surprise is that great, the big 4 could just copy it and USCC won't be at any advantage once again. They would be able to copy it within weeks or months and everyone would be right back to zero. For them to copy it, however, would mean that mythos made an impact on the big 4...

I really wish i could say something about the whole thing but that's not possible.

My personal belief on this is that this is more of a stop gap measure than anything. If you look at us cell's financial info they have been losing ALOT of customers. I think this is more of a reason to get people to stay customers and maybe add a couple and stop the trend of losing people than anything.

Will it succeed? I dunno. For me personally it wouldn't sway my decision either way because the biggest problem with us cellular is the lack of good new decent phones and the pricing on the ones they get. Look at the latest phone they released, the motorola grasp. Are you kidding me with this thing? Not only is it a piece of junk but it's way overp...

I wasn't aware that USCC was losing customers.
I supose that ATT and the iPhone draw some.
Mostly my dissatisfaction revolves around the small home area- if they added free roaming
time to the local area contracts I would be happy. As it is I don't want to pay an extra $10 a month for 30 minutes of non rollover roaming time.
The data service is terrible. I have an ATT data only option for only $15 (and it is 3g) it is cheaper than what USCC will do..
I agree a lot of the phones now seem junky and I would rather they did better testing but I recall not so long ago that everyone including me wanted the newer phones to be available as soon as possible so that is what we get for asking.

USCC has been losing customers since, I believe, 2008. They went from 6.2 million down to 6.1 million (or something like that). USCC is kind of stuck in the middle. Trying to compete with the big 4 especially in pricing, but lacking the resources to provide the kinds of phones the big 4 offer. They are also being squeezed on the low end by prepaid operators that also lack the cool phones like USCC, but offer cheap service in place. USCC's strong point is they offer great service in areas that the big 4 don't care about. That's USCC's niche. This whole testing of phones is questionable. USCC has had many dud phones like the Moto Hint, Moto Crush, LG 260, virtually all Kyoceras, and most Samsungs, and a host of other phones from the pa...
