Merger / buyout?

I have seen 2 US Cellular corp stores in my area close and re-open as Sprint stores...coincidence?

In our area Sprint stores are closing and new US Cellulars are opening because Sprint Roams here and is now calling its customers to cancel their agreements, so we get a lot of new activations from this.

Were these corporate stores? I believe more than likely, these stores might have been agents, switching over to being a Sprint agent. I know in my area, there is only 1 corporate store, and the remaining stores are agents. A few USCC agent stores have closed in my area recently, along with a couple of T-mobile agents. I don't know about Sprint corporate or agent locations. Verizon Wireless has few locations overall in my area. There are 4 corporate stores (1 mall kiosk & 3 brick & mortar stores) and a few agents (15 or less within 2 counties). I might have the count wrong on overall num...

"Sprint operates a nationwide network with CDMA technology in the PCS (1900 MHz) band, in addition to a nationwide iDEN network acquired during Sprint's merger with Nextel in August 2005.
