I`m with you joker. I`m due for an upgrade and am ashamed to admit I was contemplating leaving USCC`s great network for T-Mobile. It seems like their getting a slew of COOL phones! Then I heard the rumors about the TP2, I`m not going anywhere. I honestly believe that if US Cell would put as much emphasis on bringing out cooler handsets out faster, they would be unstoppable. Their weak handset offering is their ONLY failing.

Man to be honest i sighned a new to year contract with USCC to get the touch pro but then the word came out about the touch pro 2 an now USCC is jerking our chain(the customers) with all this unnecessary testing they claim they have to do. So now im stuck with USCC even though before i didn't have a problem with that it's mainly cause ther phone selection is rather boring, an if they (USCC) would've released this phone first they probably would've easily trippled in size!!!!!!

Well T-Mobile did it they stuck to their word of releasing this phone in a timely manner. (HTC TOUCH PRO 2) Unlike the slowest company to release cell phones U.S. Cellular matter of fact they should change their name to U.S.F**kular. If anyone from U.S. Cellular reads this that has any big ties in the company; they need to know that TODAY is the DAY when they lost almost all of their customers!!!!! ☹️ 😢

I fail to see how testing phones to insure they will not be pieces of junk is a bad thing, I do not work for USCC however I did work for VZW when we were under the same critisizim. The demands for new equipment NOW where the same then, and VZW did then just as USCC is doing now, stuck to their guns. Because if its released to soon, and found to be a major POS, the backlash would be bigger then the one from the wait for testing.

YEAH THAT IS GREAT THAT US CELL IS DOING ALL THE TESTING ON THE PHONE, BUT ISNT IT A LITTLE LATE. THAT PHONE HAS BEEN ON THE MARKET FOR SOME TIME NOW. USC SHOULD OF BEEN TESTING THE SAME TIME ALL THE OTHERS WERE. I AGREE WITH THE LACK OF PHONE CHOICES I CURRENTLY HAVE 9 LINES ON USC AND HAVE 7 DIFFERENT PHONES AND THEY ALL SEEM ABOUT A YEAR BEHIND THE REST OF THE CARRIERS..I PERSONALLY USE THE BB 8833 WE BUT LIKE THE IDEA OF THE HTC PHONES (MORE USER FRIENDLY W WINDOWS. ) .. SO USC IS BEHIND THE 8 BALL ON TESTING IF YOU ASK ME. NOT TO MENTION THAT THE HTC PRO THEY CARRY IS 279.00 WHEN YOU CAN GET A PRO 2 FOR 99 WITH OTHER CARRIERS.... STEP IT UP USC!!! YOU LOSE MORE CUSTOMERS EVERY DAY TO THIS ISSUE. I AM SURPRISED THEY ARE NOT STILL TRYING ...

I understand testing but really what is so different between touch pro & touch pro 2 besides cosmetic. Also isn't what they are testing mainly the software that USCC has added to the phone.....

looks like this is gonna come loaded with windows mobile 6.1 through t mobile. why rush to be the first one out with a nice piece of hardware in which the limiting factor is still the software? if this was coming out now with 6.5 loaded i could maybe see people jumping ship for this phone, but it's not. i liken the situation to the person who dropped a ton of money on a computer that came preloaded with windows ME a few years ago. yeah you have a nice shiny new fast computer, but it's still running windows ME.

OK.... Testing phones is a good thing matter of fact it's a great thing but NOT 3 months of testing, that's way to much. An then if your a person like me who uses your head for something other than a hat rack; there are already people who have the Windows Mobile 6.5 buts out there an it actually works!! I have Windows Mobile 6.5 on my HTC TOUCH an it works like a charm so if I had the beast hardware I would lod Windows Mobile 6.5 on the HTC TOUCH PRO 2.

No i think that that is HTC's job to test WinMo 6.5 not USCC's, they'll release an update later on, USCC is just hoping that a bunch of people will by this phone as a Christmas gift if they get it out before then. But th way they release phones it probably won't be out til this time 2010!!

HTF is HTC supposed to test something ON OUR NETWORK???? HTC is not the one in the hot seat that is responsible for what phones get released.

i love every Einstein on these boards who thinks they know it all and releasing a phone is as easy as slapping the freaking logo on it and boxing it up. I repeatedly have to point to the moto hint and the lg banter that were rushed to market with software bugs and then had to be pulled from the shelves until they could be fixed. yea, that makes for a good customer experience. the lg 260/rumor was another one. every cdma carrier in the country carried that pos and everyone of us had to deal with pissed off customers cause the thing had huge software issues. SO EXCUSE USCC for not jumping the ...

k, you totally need to go back and read what i wrote, (edited). and I'm not some 16 yr old kid who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.

I said HTC doesn't test their phones ON OUR NETWORK. thats our job. any freaking idiot with a soldiering iron and a radioshack credit card can probably make something that "will work" on our network. just because a phone works on the network doesn't mean it works well and also doesn't mean it doesn't have software bugs that need to be found out and fixed before release. every cellular company uses different mixes and brands of equipment in their towers and every phone reacts differently on each network. again, cant just slap a logo on it and start selling it.

yes, windows is an operating s...

your link on the bottom shows sprint to release Sept. 3rd..and a leaked letter shows the 8th.

as far as testing i agree they should test, but isn't the problem being USCC Software they are putting on the phones that is slowing release date.

oh and other carriers have had it out for awile now, really?? whats awile in your world, several days/hours??
idiots

I know this isn't the HTC Touch Pro 2 but the complaint most have is the time it takes for the unit to come out, you write several days, hours!!!! here is the time frame for the HTC Touch Pro

US carrier availability:
Sprint - Available
(Since Oct 2008 )
Alltel - Available
(Since Nov 2008 )
U.S. Cellular - Available
(Since Apr 2009 )

And now you can get it from Verizon for $99.00

USCC has great service great people working for them in most areas and the only thing customer are complaining about is selection of phones?

No matter how much testin...

I agree that no matter how much testing uscc does there will be issues.

my problem is that as soon as sprint or vzw rolls out some new phone that is super hot we instantly get a bunch of people in asking when we will get it. take the BB Storm. vzw hadn't even rolled it yet and we started getting people in wanting it. besides being exclusive, they rolled it and ended up with masive initial software problems and according to a couple people i know that work there, they suffered about a 50% return rate for quite awhile.

vzw and sprint have millions and millions more customers than uscc does and we really cant afford to make a decision to release a phone that is going to fail that spectacularly.

people need to realize that uscc i...

Yea your all true just some of this testing stuff is a gimmick. My best friend is one of the TECHS who has been in control of testing the HTC Touch Pro 2, and he told me the phones have completed testing they are just sitting in their storage rooms waiting on the holiday season to come about.

Oh an these people who are customers with T-Mobile aren't happy with the phone at all some say it's to big others say it lags real bad(screen very unresponsive), and the price of it. So have fun with that. Im a loyal USCC customer and have been from the start i won't leave anytime soon cause the coverage is great an matter of fact i just signed a new 2 yr contract a month ago.

so if you are so IN THE KNOW about this, why are you asking :

"So are we getting the Touch Pro 2 or is this (CEO TIPSTER) right?" -over on phoneareana.com

sounds to me like someone is a bit full of it.

that's fine that there is a copy of windows mobile 6.5 floating around on the internet for anybody to download. suppose you have issues with the phone and you have to take it into a store and have it looked at. i don't think your carrier will be too willing to help you out because you have software on your phone that hasn't been officially released yet. if you're into all of the customization and whatnot that's ok, just as long as you know you're kind of on your own at that point.

Not really cause the rest of the brilliant people in the world would take and reflash the phone with their carriers software before they take it to the store. I have also taken my phone in a U.S. Cellular store an told the tech that i had customized the phone an this is what he said,"we don't care what kind of customizations you make to your phone cause the first thing we do is reflash them."

I would come to believe that if someone has the knowledge to install new software on their phone; they would be able to troubleshoot their phone and if need to revert it back to original condition. It wouldn't surprise me here in ENC, they would even realize 6.5 was on the phone. Just my 2 cents.
