Yeah, the toys are what make the phone fun, but I live in the boonies.
Reception is my first and foremost requirement.

Which phone(s) do you guys think have the best reception?

Thanks in advance! 🙂

Pretty much any Motorola...especially the Razr V3m and Razr 2 V9m.

For the cost, I would go with the V3. BB's aren't bad either for smartphones.

Motorolas do get the best signal overall. LG is great, too. The Blackberry's have awesome reception, but depending on where you live you may not get data service. If I were you, ask a US Cellular associate in your area or call Customer Service at 1-888-944-9400.

I would disagree with this comment. I would say Motorola's have better reception overall but poorer battery life because they use more power and some slim models have smaller batteries. The new LG's have been performing great, especially in the rural areas I know about to be traditional "wireless holes." Granted this post was posted last month and the two recent LGs may not have been launched.

As a rep, I used to live and breath Motorola as far as companies go, but my next phone will be an LG. Luckily I get my subsidy in May, which is just before June.. 🙂 Read between those lines.

I had an LG before my BB and loved it. I'm a loyal RIM customer now.

USccindiana, since you are all about policy and abiding by it so strictly maybe you should watch yourself. It is against company policy to support one product more than another. All of our phones have been tested and have great reception remember. However you did cover yourself by mentioning 3 of the five brands we currently carry. So are you saying that samsung and Kyocera scuk. No??? Ok then I will.

DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG OR KYOCERA ON US CELL AS THEY ARE BAD PHONES FOR RECEPTION. SAMSUNGS TELL YOU NOT TO PUT YOUR HAND ON THE BACK OF THE PHONE WHILE USING THEM AS YOU MAY INTERFERE WITH THE ANTENNA. SO YOU FIGURE OUT HOW TO HOLD IT AND LET ME KNOW. KYOCERA IS A KOREAN WORD FOR PIECE OF GARBAGE. DON'T BELIEVE ME GO TO URBAN DICT...

I currently use a Samsung, and it has very good RF qualities. When I connect it to my drive test gear, it competes with any motorola, and most LG's. Even a Kyocera KX 440 does quite well when collecting data.

It is not always about the handset, but about the network topography in the areas you use it most.

That sounds like a good explanation to this debate.

For best reception go with the Moto M800 🙄
But for a practical handset go with Moto Krazer, I have had very good luck with it. A family member has a couple of Moto Razers and had good luck with them as well.
