I CAN'T HOLD MY TOUNGE ANY LONGER! + more

I posted the below rant in the USC SUX thread but wanted to give it it's own thread and chance to get response. What I notice most about the forum is that alot of the more tenured employees (or ex-employees like me) have a very negative view of USC (especially the call center reps). Why is this? Because we woke up that is why! My email is Ireallyhateuscellular@yahoo.com. Here's my rant:

I am former NINE year employee of the Knoxville call center so I can tell all and after reading some of the comments like 'you get out what you put in' and foolishness like that I had to comment. US Cellular is a terrible company to work for. They say they are different but they are NOT. They say they have an open door policy but that is just talk. It look...

i posted a reply. i said "that is very unfortunate to hear." i do not know how it is in a call center, but i have heard some bad things about in there, mostly on phonescoop forums. not just USCC, but with other companies, as well. i had a bad experience with corporate, which i must admit, i deserved the consequences, but not in the way it was delivered, i think i wrote a post down there somewhere called "it really is about the numbers", because it IS. with corp, it is. not just the store manager, but the manager above him, and it just goes on up, as far as i can see.

working at agent store = awesome. not only are we striving to serve the customer first and foremost, we still work at making the company a profit. we are able to sit down wit...

I can't say what it would be like to work in a call center or in a retail locaton but I love working as an agent. I know there are a lot of issues between agents and retail and even more issues with agents getting paid from USCC for commissions. I help the agent I work for every month by trying to help them dispute chargebacks and "errors" done by our sales teams so we can get paid. I see some negativity with USCC but I'm willing to bet it's the same with any carrier. Anywho.. that's what I got to say..

USCC has clicks, OH NO!!! Ummm, that's a part of life, and if any company were to say they didn't have "clicks" in call centers, that would be a bold faced lie.

Also...the customer verification policy is a vital part to customer satisfation, bottom line. In this day in age, unfortunately, it's need to protect customers. I don't see how you can get creative with it, it's black and white, as it should be - I wouldn't want my information being accessed by some wierdo trying to find something out about me!

I was a sales manager for almost 2 years in a retail store. I was told I needed to change becasue I have a deep voice, and come across intimidating. I changed how I talked to the teams, and was told again that I needed to continue to change because the team was unreceptive to being held accountable for their actions...since the former manager of this team was their friend and took them to strip clubs on the company dime! I was tired of being passed over for promotions becasue according to them I did not have the skills to create and maintain a relationship...what crap. I decided to leave and am working for a much better company. My days off are just that now, and I don't travel at all. I have less stress and more time. I didn't realiz...

I can verify what you are saying. I also was told that I wasn't a "team player" if I didn't hang out with the team. And on more than one occasion we were in the strip club and mgmt always picked up the tab. Elaborate dinners, excessive alcohol etc.
I know more than I need to know and would love to spill it, but to those of you that are naive, you will have to learn this on your on. The East Region has issues and USCC will learn that you can only cover things up for a short while.

The upper leadership will ultimately pay for the behaviors that they have chosen to overlook and make exceptions and even promoted those that don't play by the rules.

disgruntled ex employee with no power except to whine and complain.

It doesn't make you any less wrong, and it doesn't mean that you were not fired unjustly, but like most states, TN is an employed at will state, so people don't even have to give a reason for firing your ass.

BTW, USC does suck, and after nine years, you deserved a change. Best of luck to you.

This is such crap... I work at a corprorate retail store and love my job... if you think the D.O. is not real then you obviously werent living it... I know numerous associates that work at the Tulsa Call Center that all love their jobs... so whats the common denomanator...YOU!!! There is a reason we were named the Best Large Company to work for in the state of Oklahoma... its because its true...I have never worked for a Company like this where my opionions were valued and I am only an RWC, my store manager is great and my ASM is awesome. He is willing to do anything for us from taking payments to shoveling snow to wearing the Cellbie suit to help drive traffic. I can honestly say working for this company has made me a better person.

Do you not think that we all felt the same way at some point in time. You have alot to learn. As an RWC you don't see the things that we saw.

Keep drinking the kool-aid and give it 9 years. You will see through the smoke and the mirrors later. You will be amazed at the ones you respected. Imagine your awesome ASM who is taking those payments getting fired for no reason. Then you talk about the DO

here's what always cracked me up at uscellular. they hire the biggest BIT**CHES in the world. every employee crys and B**ches and moans because someone told them what to do. Its a job, you get hired, someone tells you what to do and if you don't do the you get canned. Its a simple concept! Go to work do your job get paid and go home. no one has ever said uscc didn't pay them did they? No they didn't. The queer who worked in knoxville for nine years starting creating waves at the call center he was in and he had an attitude with his manager. he's not the manager he is an employee he doesn't get to have a attitude at work. he goes to work does the job that he is told to do the right way and when he didn't they canned him. He flushed ...

I don't think this is in regards to a call center issue. The problem that I see is that you do what you are told to do, and as a result, you still get canned b/c someone else decides that the DO changes from day to day and so your manager isn't compliant. Waves? I am afraid I have missed something along the way. I'm not aware of any waves. Unless the ones that are made by a big cheese in the East who changes their mind like the wind and makes up the rules as they go and yet can still be so sly and smooth.

Just remember you aren't one of those that was canned and having to struggle through holidays to get by. Be Thankful this season that you still have a job and that you can afford to pay a cell phone bill- wait you don't have to b/c i...

I worked with someone just like you that worked for uscc three years and then started selling under that table and was surprised when they pulled him in the office to can him. always cracks me up. Like I said, its a job you keep your head down and just do your job don't complain, don't whine. Just work and get your pay check and go home and take care of your family........through the holidays. Its no ones fault but your own and if you knew this supposed crack hear supervisor or leader was a jacka** then you should have realized you didn't need to make comments regarding change whether they were truthful or not!

Be careful if you work for USCC.......As a former Leader in the organization the DO is a great concept...IN THEORY. When push comes to shove it is used more as a weapon. People can be accused of being "undynamic" which is liked being marked for termination. It is stated that open and honest communication is encouraged, yet when you do so if someone doesn't like it you are coached on how you "just don't get how things work here". All in all if you act and want to be treated like sheep USCC is ok to work for. If you prefer your opinions to at least be considered this wasn't a place where this happened.

Yeah it is hard to get fired which probably explains while you still work there.....I left on my own volition. Instead of worrying about me maybe you should worry about yourself and your obvious inability to utilize proper grammar. They write books to help out people like you....with the title usually ending in "for Dummies".

ahh sweet tits I keep hurtings your feeeeellllings (oooops grammar error). They don't fire the ones who make them money my queerish friend! How do you think they paids your dumb A**? Its the sales people or did you forget how uscc works along with any other retail company on earth..... The worst thing about employees like yourself is that you worked there for so long and you still never learned everything. I still have to correct the issues customer service reps and agent create by giving the wrong information and most of the wrong information comes from the employees that have been there longer then most! You are one of those geeks that thinks they know everything and think there is nothing else to learn. Come back when you have a co...

Rain, rain, go away. Just keep drinking the kool aid and at USCC your bound to stay. It's probably better for the rest of us that you continue to stay at that little company you work for. If USCC were so great they'd have more customers now wouldn't they?? Guess you can't hack it anywhere else.......Ignorance is bliss, until the cold hard truth of really hits you in the face. Or is it that you are just AFRAID...........

Does it surprise anyone that the author of the original post was fired. You say you worked for USCC for 9 years. You stayed that long it couldn't have been that horrible. If it was you were free to walk whenever you wanted. You were never forced to work there. We all choose our jobs. The DO is not a lie. you either embrace it and you are happy or you fight it and you become the author of this post. They gave you 9 years of employment they do not fire you because you resist change. There are always two sides to a story.

I work in a call center for US Cellular and I love it! It is very relaxing environment. I worked for at&t and was stressed 95% of the time. If people worked for them first thay would see how good we have it. My friends and family have noticed a change in my attitude since I switched companies. I think Us Cellular works harder with morale than at&t did. What at&t failed to realize is that the stress that they put on their employees effected their customers. That is why they rank so low with customer service. The fact is that management doesn't make customer service better, it is our agents that do. Customer's Expect it! We Deliver!
