Why no cool Motorola offerings....

Considering how strong Motorola has come on with their Smartphone selection, why hasn't U.S. Cellular widened their Moto offerings. Are there any rumors in the pipeline to any of their "better" existing products coming our way? Ive always enjoyed the rugged quality of Moto products, and it seems like their getting more competitive with their hardware.

Well if I had to guess...Motorola, with all there drama can only afford to focus on one area at this point and that is the Droid...which is exclusive to Verizon. They are not doing anything else. The end.

Their drama? Whats their drama?

Moto droid came out nov 6th on Verizon. Was widely regarded as a great move. Has released several phones to the biggest two carriers in america to decent critical acclaim. Motorola profits tons. The end.

she was saying motorola was ONLY focusing on the droid franchise @ vzw, which is not true. atrix on at&t is a good example.

And I'm saying that something as nationwide (dare I say global?) as the Atrix will be of little to no interest to them...

The main reason is that u.s cell is trying to get more phones that other carriers dont have. They dont want to release the droid 2 a few months later under a different name. Motorola needs to offer us a good phone exclusive to u.s. cell.

They somewhat recently started offering the Motorola Grasp, which is quite literally about the worst phone I have ever seen in the wireless industry. USCell girl said it, they are focused on the Droid series and are doing seemingly nothing else.

Motorola is focusing on thier exclusives right now, since USCC is a smaller carrier and tries not to work in the exclusive phones market there have not been many phones that USCC wants to offer. It also has to deal with supply and demand and also working with the manuf. to find the right price and quanity that the cell carrier wants to have and afford.

So basically what you're saying is USCC isn't a big enough player to offer cool phones? The Grasp is now gone as well. The Grasp was okay for a free phone, but to sell it for $50 as it originally was was a joke. Other phones never seem to go away like the TouchPro2. That clunker stuck around for 1 1/2 years.

No not at all, basically we don't want anything at this time that Motorola has to offer because the "exclusive" phones are taking most of their attention and as of right now the phones we have are competitive and comparable to Motorola's offerings.

I believe they are testing the Xoom tablet for possible sale. No official statement as of yet though.

As far as phones, I'm not really sure why they haven't gotten anything in the smartphone that is competative.

New evidence has surfaced saying US Cellular would be carrying the Motorola XOOM. Sweet, but that’s about all we know for the time being except for it’s expected launch window – Q2’11. No word on whether or not this will have 3G radios for US Cellular’s CDMA network, either, so all we know is that you’ll eventually be able to buy the XOOM in some unknown capacity sometime within the next 2.5 months. Not exactly the most exciting of leaks, is it?
