I'm pretty sure renewing your contract w/ the new plan will not change the date for your option to get a new phone. I'd call in & ask.

Yeah u can still get your new phone when its due but still we could always change our plans whenever we wanted to, this sucks, So what if we wanna change it again in a month or 2 then what happens????????????????

You would be signing a new two year agreement, the reason US Cellular requires it is because it is a promotional plan with such great features & benefits we want to make sure as a business that we have you locked in for 2 more years.
It does not change your equipment timer, so if you're elligable in 2 months for a new phone and you get a new one then and resign your contract, it's just 2 years from that date. We don't keep stacking the years up on eachother.
I hope this helps you understand. 😁

What new plans?
I was just looking at what was offered and it was crap. Nothing to match what I have had for 5 years- 1000 minutes for $39 and unlimited after 9 and weekends plus free incoming.
Is there anything to match that?
If not why not?
I thought call time was supposed to get cheaper not more expensive.

Well on your 39 dollar plan your coverage for those free calls after nine is just a little smaller than a new plan. Also there is a bigger area for the u.s. cellular network, once again not alot but a diff. Also each line you try and add is 15 dollars not ten. Right now when you re-new you get all three features, N&W starting at 7 M2M and incoming calls all FREE! 5.95 for your N&W also there was no free incoming on that plan. And on a side note you cant add family texting to this plan you have to add texting to each line.

Yeah, what kriddle said.

YOu're not looking at the big picture. For what you're getting. It is cheaper. If you don't need it. Don't get it. Keep what you have. Look at your bill. Unless someone screwed up, you're probably paying more than just $39.95 for n&w AND free incoming. And you're not that far from more features for maybe a couple dollars that might save you in the long run.

but, like i always tell my customers. If you don't need it / don't use it, why pay for it. Keep what you got and maybe you will be better off in the end.

I agree. Just stating the facts. If there are new plans and you dont like them dont go with one stay with paying 39 dollars a month.

I DO get free incomming but I have to pay $15 for a second line. I don't care about texting people (I'm old school - just talk to them dammit!) and incomming texts are free so no gain there.
The only thing I want in a new plan is some free roaming time or extended service area but it makes no sense to have to pay another $10 for this "free" feature.
USCC just wants me to spend more money which I see no compelling reason to do.

Apparently now it cost $20 to add a line! The National 1000 promo is $49 but the family 1000 promo is $69 it includes 2 lines. I'm not great at math but that comes up to $20 fer me!

This is not a new rule. Anytime there is a promotion and you want to take advantage of that promotion it requires a new 2 yr service agreement. This does not however affect your time when you can get a new phone.

Now that would have been a deal! I'm really sorry I missed that. https://www.phonescoop.com/carriers/forum.php ?fm=m&ff=12&fi=2092697#

Still maybe the 1000 national promotion is not so bad. It depends on what the charge is for a second phone. If it's $10 then that is only $5 more than what I pay and I get me some roaming included. I would go for that but not if the second line is $15 or 20..

Can someone tell me what the cost of a second line is on that 100 National Promo. It isn't listed. I'll do it if it isn't more than $10

I guess it depends on how much your plan is now. Because the 1000 min national promo, along with all our other family plans. Have the first 2 phones included in the plan.

Its $69.99 for the first 2 phones. And its $10 extra, per line, on lines 3-5. Whatever you're paying for only 1 line right now to add the 2nd line is the difference between your current plan and the new plan.

So the initial bite of the first 2 lines might be a little more. You get more out of it too. Nation wide, 7 pm n&w, m2m, and free incoming. All included with the plan.

Hope that helps.

That is a problem. The National 1000 promo is $49 but I need an extra line. The family National 1000 promo has two lines but is $69 so you are paying $20 for an extra line. Not so good a deal I think. What does it cost to add a line to the basic National 1000 promo or can't you? If you can't then no deal as $69 is not what I will spend, I'll keep my 39 plus 15= $54

If you are on an older $39.95 midwest promo plan (1000 min), then it would not be recommended to switch to this plan.

The only downfall is that the $39.95 plan would charge you for roaming calls.
