RAZR2 - Worth it???

Cell23

Sep 28, 2007, 8:03 AM
Is the new RAZR2 a good phone with USCC? My contract is expiring next month & I am considering all options. Getting a new phone with USCC (razr2) or switching service. The problem with switching companies - No Free Incoming Texts or Phone Calls. Also the OTHER companies have expensive phone plans. Are there any new Awesome phones coming out soon - that I should wait for?

Suggestions??

Well honestly I thing the razr2 is just a gussied up version of the original razr. Yes it has a better camera and outside mp3 controls but it runs the same software and everything.
It's just a new shell. That's it!

theres more than just that.
Faster stereo Bluetooth, USB 2.0, More internal memory, etc.

And the software is designed differently than the V3c, I personally like the new RAZR software.

It is ok, but I really get the feeling it is a "lookit what i got!" show it at dinner with friends kind of phone.

The one I had for awhile was nice, the signal strength was a bit weak for such an expensive phone.

You're right. Any phone with an internal antenna will get worse signal than one with an external. Especially if you can raise it.

people amaze me the only thing an external one is good for is AMPS. Digital doesn't affect it one way or the other. That is way most hell I think all are internal now!

let me get this straight.

The tower is 10 miles away. The antenna is 2 inches tall.

Is the extra inch of antenna helping, or is it the altitude? 🙄

look at the RF charts... the Razr v3c has almost 40% better CDMA signal/noise than even the v710, one of the strongest tri-mode phones on the market. v9 and q share the same RF characteristics.

Yes, the antenna will definitely help. When I'm in an elevator, the antenna being raised or not determines if I lose my call.

If I'm in a low signal area, I can raise my antenna and see the number of bars increase on the phone's display.

And the antenna is actually about 7-8 inches long if you count the part on the inside of the phone. Ahhh, more than meets the eye. 😲
