No you can roam, just not on their system. If you have a tri mode phone go into network settings and change them to allow the phone to roam. I have done that and picked up a signal. A recording came on and said it was the cellular roaming network and you needed a credit card to raom. They said the cost was 2.99 per day. If this is true I am going to cancel my Verizon which I keep for when I travel. I was just wondering if anyone has tried this and had success with it.

I hope not. This is why I was posting. I think it was 2.99 per day and 1.99 per minute. Has anyone used this before.

I am a metro pcs employee and the roaming issue is something we are working to have resolved as soon as possible and in the next couple of months you should have an option to avoid roaming status

I talked to a MetroPCS store manager a he said that yes, MetroPCS is working with a major carrier to cooperate in their nationwide roaming system that will only cost us a fraction of what it costs now! Stand by! Things will only get better!

That major carrier would be Verizon. I believe the deal is already signed...it's just a matter of them implementing it.
