Thinking about switching to Metro.

I have T-Mobile right now but I don't want to be under contract any more and I don't want a high phone bill because I really don't use my phone that much!

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and would like to know if anyone's happy with Metro. How will Metro work when I travel outside of the Bay. And also, is the service good? 5 years ago, I texted message my cousin. She has Metro and she didn't recieve my text till 2 hours later. Is their a text messaging problem with Metro? I text more than I talk so I don't want their to be any delays.

Thanks for your time!
