Curious Newbie relating to Basement frequency

I currently have ATT, I get good reception in my basement. I think I have the most basic Nokia phone you can get from them. Since they changed their termination fee rules, i can opt out with a pro-rated fee. I'm curious to know if anyone in the Detroit area, or any area, gets good reception in their basement. When I had Verizon, it was horrible in basements. Same with Sprint.

You get reception because you have Nokia! don't expect from other brands except Moto. Nokia and Moto are the best handsets for signal reception in the world.

So yea, just found out today that att has not actually instituted the pro-rated termination fee. They've been advertising this since OCTOBER! And still haven't actually done it.
