'Ghetto' PCS?
My friend had you guys in the SF/Northern Peninsula area... his girlfriend was over for the everning, and he receives a text message. Its from his girlfriend. She looks at it and starts laughing and says, "OMG, I sent this to you TWO DAYS ago." Wha?
Are things going to get better with Metro, or is this just a case of 'you get what you pay for'? I currently am on Verizon and like it, but it's always nice to have good alternatives, just in case.
(btw, 'Ghetto PCS' is not my term... its what my friend now calls Metro)
Anyways, what I really wanted to comment on was the "ghetto pcs". Most of the "all you can eat", no contract carriers, seem to get this stigma. I think it is due to the fact that it is no contract, so the people who have screwed up credit and do not pay there bills on time tend to be with these type of providers. My friend doesn't call them 'GhettoPCS' because of the kind of customers that Metro services... he calls them 'GhettoPCS' because of the kind of service they gave him and his gf. ☹️
He wound up dumping them recently, and is now going with T-Mobile (contract). He's crossing his fingers that they will be better.
I do think that they are coming up i a big way. The coverage has gotten better, along with phone selection, most notable the 6255i showcasing as their high end feature phone. My only complaint is that I would like to see them get some motorola phones.
i sell phones in a small town (50k people i think) half an hour away from San Fran, and thats the issue i have here, in fact there are 2 BIG holes in this town, and a couple of smaller ones
I won't say I don't get dropped calls or delayed voicemails, but those are not commonplace.
when there is a lot of traffic it can take hours or even days for a txt to get thru, but sms is not an instant technology
