Any substantial phone upgrades from the CDM-8500

I've had this phone for a few years now and it's just barely acceptable. Call clarity is substantially worse then my friends Motorola on T-Mobile. I miss calls due to the weak ringer and weak vibrate mode. I like it's size but I swear I will never manually enter addresses into a phone again. I do wish Virgin had a bit more selection of handsets.

Has anyone out there upgraded their 8500 to an 8912 or similar ? Did you see a huge improvement (I'm hoping so).

audiovox 8910's suck as far as reception, which is the same as the 8912 just different look and software for another company, if it is anything like the real thing, you won't get good service even standing next to a sprint tower.

Thanks, that's been my experience so far. I didn't want to replace the phone unless there was a good reason to expect much better. Guess there isn't.
