HTC Evo V leading to higher charges???
I'd been on the $35/mo (300 voice minutes plus unlimited data) plan - auto deducted from credit card.
I NEVER use up all 300 voice minutes. A day after I purchased the Evo and switched over to it, I ran out of minutes...
I went online to top-up, and decided to just reset the billing cycle to "today."
Lo and behold: email verification arrived. It claimed I'm still on the $35/month plan, but the total charge was _$50!!_
Fine print indicated they're charging $15/mo to activate the wifi hotspot in the Evo.
Instantly I complained to customer service in email. I'd read nothing about that charge while doing due diligence before purchasing the handset, and there's nothing I could find online under Plans that mentions this charge.
It's been more than 24 hours. Usually I get quick response from customer service about email queries. Haven't heard back yet. But so far, I don't like the smell of this.
If my plan manditorialy goes to $50/mo, I'll return the phone. The handset ain't _THAT_ big a deal.
