Has anyone been to the Virgin Mobile website lately? It seems as though a lot of people have the $50 unlimited talk plan.

I found out about Virgin Mobile through a TV program that mentioned VM's "Broadband 2 Go" plan. After researching it, and the "Beyond Talk" plan, thoroughly, I was sold.

I said good-bye to Verizon Wireless which I had for 8 years, and dove head first into the VM "Beyond Talk" plan.

Since my phone is not my life, I went with the $25 plan (unlimited free web, free messaging, and email, plus 300 min of talk) which is plenty for me. I ended up cutting my monthly phone expenses in half, got exactly what I needed and more, without being tied to a contract.

As with a previous post, I too had some difficulty with VM when signing up. Apparently, you can do the complete registering process online, except, if you want to keep a phone# from another service provider, in which case, you must register over the phone. This is not made very clear in the instructions on signing up for service.

I got near the end of the sign up process online, and realized there was no provision for transferring a number, so I backed out, but it was to late, some of the information had already went through.

I called customer service and completed the process. They said I would be receiving a message telling me that my service was activated, it never came. I called CS back and they tried everything that they knew to get me up and running, but ended up telling me that they would have to turn this over to a review board to solve the problem, and I would hear from them in no longer than 48 hrs.

It was less than 4 hrs and I was up and running with the wrong plan. The people who I had no contact with made an assumption, and like a previous post, I ended up with the 20 cents a minute plan. My anger was readily apparent to the poor guy on the CS line, but he resolved the issue calmly, and I ended up with the plan I signed up for, plus $.60 extra in my account.

My whole point is that, after straighting out the problem that I created in the first place by trying to register and transfer my Verizon number online, I couldn't be happier with Virgin Mobile.

I purchased the "Rumor Touch" phone and am very happy with it. Surfing the web on a phone is really cool, as is messaging without having to worry about the costs adding up. Google Maps which comes free is also very cool.

My vacation to Ocean City, MD and driving from PA to Raleigh, NC went without any problems with service whatsoever

My next endeavor is "Broadband 2 Go" with the brand new MiFi 2200 router. To me, the fact that I can get all this technology, at a very reasonable cost, without having to sign my life away for two years, is incredible!

I LOVE Virgin Mobile!!!
