The closest thing to a smartphone would be the Ocean 2, which is on the contract/helio side of things. It has basically everything, but uses its own operating system, and not Windows Mobile. Also, Helio has better coverage as it has an agreement with Verizon to roam on its network. So, if you go off Sprint, you will use Verizon. That basically covers everywhere.

Otherwise, on the prepaid side, the new x-tc is not a smartphone, but a full keyboard phone. That's what I'm planning to get. VM phones just use the Sprint network, and the coverage is OK, but once you start to go off the beaten path, it may get tricky. So it depends on where you are.

And I don't thing you can port anything over. VM has very specific software on its phones which wouldn't allow anything like that to happen, I don't believe.

Hope that helps! VM just rolled out its 49.99 unlimited service too. I am very excited about that!
