I've been looking all over for information regarding whether or not the slice phone can be unlocked. If anyone knows if it's possible to unlock please let me know. Thanks.

Cdma phones cant be unlocked. Period. If its Virgin Mobile branded, it can only be used on VM.

By the way, why on Earth would you want to have it unlocked?

CDMA Phones don't really need to be unlocked... but they can be used on another carrier if:

The carrier is willing to accept foreign ESN's on their network.

&

You have loaded the PRL for that carrier onto your phone. Either OTA or with a cable.

From a business perspective, Sprint has agreements with certain re-sellers of wireless service that specifically disallows either party from activating a phone whose ESN originated from the other party. In other words, you cannot activate a Virgin, STI, or ESPN Mobile (or any other MVNO's phone) on Sprint PCS. This would be a breach of this contract between Sprint and the virtual network.

Would it then be possible to active a VM phone on say, Verizon's network for example, since they don't have a contract with Sprint?

Since it's a CDMA, no. Even if it could, Verizon wouldn't support it and why would anyone want to stay on Sprint?
