SPAM from VM

Dec 6, 2006, 1:16 AM
For the past several months I've been receiving 15 to 30 SPAM text messages from VM. I've called them (they say "tough" it's their "right" to SPAM me). I've emailed them -- they write I can "turn it off" (but I can't), and they continue.

All the SPAM is their own, but I work 3rd shifts. They wake me in the middle of MY night. I'd registered with the "DO NOT CALL" registry, but I suppose "text" messages don't count. They say it doesn't cost me anything, but it DOES (in time and effort deleting all this unsolicited commercial BS).

How do I get them to stop? File complaints with the FCC? Complain to Richard Branson (I have his address)?

I've threatened to go elsewhere for service, but where I live there aren't many (any) choices...

I am so disgusted with the spam from Virgin -- on both my cell phone and my home phone that when I've used up my minutes I am finding a new carrier.

The first text message came in the middle of the night the day after my mother died. I was finally asleep and my phone starts beeping and won't quit. Finally got up and threw the dang phone out the back door.
Today they called me on my home phone!
After the second text message I received, I spent a couple of hours emailing and calling and being on hold trying to figure out how to get them to stop. They lied to me: one said there was nothing they could do, the other said there was an option on the website.

Today, I checked the privacy policy-- it does say you can request to opt out. O...
