Jun 12, 2006, 2:28 AM
Just picked up a brand new Virgin brochure at WalMart. It says it's valid as of 6/14/06.

Options shown:

by the minute @ 18¢ per minute
or $6.99 per month gets you 10¢ all the time

by the month -
$14.99 - 100 mins
$24.99 - 200 mins
$34.99 - 300 mins + 1000 night/wk'end "primetime" mins
$44.99 - 400 mins + unlimited primetime
$59.99 - 600 mins + unlimites primetime

overage mins are 10¢ charged $4.50 at a time

text 5¢ in or out
$9.99 for 1000
$4.99 for 200
$1.99 for 50

a few other changes like now you can check your balance 5 times a day

still says top up $20 every 90 days

Those are expensive rates for cellular service. I am assuming that this is prepaid all the way or is the monthly way a contract. I know with other carriers you can pay 59.99 and get 900-1000 minutes and unlimited nights and weekends and even for some, free mobile to mobile.

Sry...VZW is trying to phaze out of offering least to what I've seen. VZW's prepaid...available in few locations offers 10 cents/min with a $1 daily access fee...regardless of usage..and you only get unlimted VZW to VZW.

All other VZW plans require at least a one year contract.

Virgin is prolly one of the cheapest pre paid options available. No daily access credit check..and no contract.
