Short-term stay

I'll be in the US for a month or two and would like a cheap option so VMs Pay-As-You-Go sounds good. Do I just go to a VM store and buy a phone and air time? There's really no contract? I can just use if for a couple of months and take it with me or give it to a friend when I leave?

I'll probably just get the Aloha or Marbl so it sounds good if there really aren't any hidden costs.

Yes, you could definitely do the pay as you go or monthly. I would recommend, though, checking the coverage map on virginmobileusa.com. Depending on where you are, coverage could be spotty as it uses the Sprint network. But I have one and love it. I have had it for almost a year...do the monthly plan and have the Wilcard. Prices are quite competitive actually, and if you do a plan, nights start at 7 p.m. the 34.99 plan is really a good deal I think, esp. if you talk in the evening. Good luck!
