With the laying off of 5000 employees it will be interesting to see what will become of Sprint in the next year. Anyone care to speculate on what they think may happen?

The laying off is nothing more than getting rid of excess payroll after a merger.

Please advise how Wi-Max will blow everyone out of the water??? If Wi-Max is such a threat then why is Sprint the only one wasting their time and money with it??? Data is not the great equalizer, remember that a mere 10-15% of a carriers total revenue comes from Data services.

Speaking of following... Does anyone remember when Sprint was going to eschew the EV-DO route and go straight to EV-DV? I wonder why they scrapped those plans?

Because Qualcomm nixed the EV-DV standard. If the proprietary owner ditches a standard, it's pretty much a no-go.

Anyway, EV-DO Rev. B (which is the successor to Rev. A) takes most concepts of what EV-DV was based on and improves upon them greatly.

There was literally not even enough support for EV-DV to be tested.

When the merge first happened they explained duplicated roles will be eliminated. I can't understand why they didn't do this up front because apparently all the extra help did not do anything for the benefit of integration. I mean, are there even any Nextel subs left???

I wrote a post for you a while ago I was just hoping you could read it. If you can't figure out how to get to it what you want to do is

Step One: Search around your desk for a large bean looking device with a cord that has two button and sometimes a wheel, some people call this a mouse, To your amazement when you move this thing a little pointer will move on the screen,

Step Two: Use this to point to the link below.

Step Three: Use the left button on the mouse to select the link.

Step Four: Pick up the mouse and smack yourself in the head for ever posting in the Sprint forum.

yep sprint sucks and everyone is fleeing 🤣

RESTON, Va. - Sprint Nextel Corp. reported Monday that its cell phone business suffered a net loss of 300,000 monthly subscribers in the fourth quarter and that the struggling wireless company will cut 5,000 jobs.

The company's stock plunged more than 8 percent after the financial update, which included a 2007 outlook shy of many Wall Street forecasts.

Sprint said it expects its 2006 results to be in line with its previous guidance, with full-year revenue of $41 billion to $41.5 billion and adjusted operating income before depreciation and amortization of $12.6 billion to $12.9 billion. On average, analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial are forecasting 2006 earnings of $1.26 per share...

well I am glad you read closely, the net loss was on the Nextel side. So.... did you figure out how to click that link before?

Everyone is fleeing? Yet we added more than we lost? Hmmmm your a genius.

Next time you feel like brushing up on your copy and paste commands, do so elsewhere.

your sexually explicit comments are not welcome here, hope you can find a forum that fits you, but then again you might not wanna try that or your mom might take away your keyboard again. If I were you I'd stick to nickelodeon.com.

Verizon troll with a T-Mobile screename, its a suprise I feel like wasting my time replying to your pointless posts. Like anyone would even think your opinion has any weight.

I would get a more intelligent answer about cell phone from my grandmother, atleast she'll admit she doesn't know anything rather than post something useless like others.

I have a cat name Buttons. Buttons likes catnip, playing with yarn, and buttons. Do you like buttons? Would you like a chocolate chip cookie? Let's be friends. I will be a good friend. We can sit under the tree and eat gumdrops every day!

Don't be so quick to speak the eulogy over Sprint. Especially when you are ignorant of facts.

Sprint and Nextel are in the middle of a difficult merger. Things are going to be tough for them until everything is integrated.

Sprint has massive amounts of bandwidth to use, more than double what T-Mobile has even after the latest auction acquisitions.

T-Mobile is nothing more than a me-too GSM carrier that has much less coverage than any other tier 1 carrier. Your company is way behind in the technology game. Sprint is deploying 4g before T-Mo rolls out 3g.

When Sprint's ship rights after the merger they will be able to bury their competitors with the bandwidth and technology they offer.
The marketplace may not see it for a while ...

Knowing our luck he probably has a wireless mouse! Well it's still bean shaped and has two buttons and sometimes have a wheel. At least he can still smack himself with it in the head! 😁
