The CSR noticed that I used to have Sprint PCS service years ago, and apparently set this up as a contract renewal, rather than a fresh, from scratch customer. I'm not sure I mentioned Amazon to them during the call, although I think I did.

Amazon's policy is unclear. Sometimes it says new contract, and sometimes it says new agreement.

I am worried because without the $200 rebate, the Treo will be a very expensive phone.

I just received a bill from Sprint for $0.00. I only activated last week and they sent me this...

You received bill for 0.00 b/c your cycle end date is the date the acct or in your case subscription (b/c they used the same acct) was set up. Your bill cycle started the next day and thus your bill was processed, but Sprint cannot start billing you till the port is complete, therefore, expect to see a full month, plus this partial month on your second bill. That is why this current bill was 0, your phone was not active, therefore, they could not bill you. As far as the rebate, I dont envision you having and problems. It was probably set up as a new subscription with a new contract, so there should be no reason why you wouldnt get it. now, dont take my word about the rebate, im just saying. 😁
