Of course, you'd first need a world phone, and most of the GSM phones Sprint is selling are not world phones - they will only work overseas because of the frequencies supported.
Even if you could use your Sprint GSM phone here, I believe you'd be charged "international" roaming rates, since that's the nature of Sprint's GSM roaming agreements.
Yes the GSM phones they use smart cards. The CSR was trying to tell me that The techs at the store are the only ones that can insert the cards.
