That's a dual-band CDMA 800/1900 phone that will technically work here. But... it's strictly for KDDI's au service - a Japanese CDMA carrier. ☹️

This phone will be sold only in Japan, as a multi-band CDMA "world" phone. It works in Japan, and allows roaming on CDMA networks in China, Korea, Australia, Hong Kong, U.S., and Canada. It could also work in India and parts of South America, although I don't think KDDI has roaming agreements in place there.
