I purchased a new shared minute plan 2/11. I transferred one of my numbers to Sprint coming from ATT. Im still waiting on the porting. Sprint has the number but they havent activated it. They keep on telling me 3-5 days and that it will be excalated. Its been escalated 3times!! Can anyone help PLEASE!!!!

*waits for everyone to diss AT&T Wireless*
Just a warning before listening to everyone gripe, it takes TWO to tango. 🙂
...
I had ATT for 5years and never had a problem. Sprint took the number since 2 thursday ago. I havent had any service since. And it sucks!!! To me it seems that Sprint is at fault. They say that my escalation got stuck in queue. Whatever that means!!!
Sorry, I venting!!

I know this doesn't get your phone activated, but Sprint should give you your first month free when they get it activated. I have given several customers their first month free when the port wasnt done correctly. I honestly haven't heard any porting problems in at least a month or so. Is your AT&T phone still working? If not, you should demand Sprint give you a temporary phone number to hold you over until the whole thing works out.

TO start out im not a fan of sprint and work for another company... I can tell you that the problem is most likely with AT&T. All the major carriers use a company reccomended my the FCC as a intermediatary with one exception...AT&T. Ports from AT&T to the company i work for take longer than any other carrier.

When I call my number it gives me a message 3623, Anyone know what that means. It say the PCS number is unavailable then the message number.
Any help??
Any Suggestions??
...
Totally agree...the problem lies with AT&T.
...
TSI was not recommended by the FCC, where the hell did you fish that from? 😛
...
One can tango better than the other...guess that why they sold. Can't dance much.
...
I know that one of my friends went from AT&T to Sprint and for some reason they could not transfer his phone number. I really don't know why.
...
I dont like sprint but the porting issue is AT&T's fault 90% of the time
...
Um, no? Prove that, moron. The porting issues are due to to the porting systems they use, ATT using Nightfire (who they have a contract with), and the others using I think TSI Communications, (just changed names). The problems resulted due to TSI refusing alot of the porting requests, it had NOTHING to do with AT&T Wireless.
And who would turn up 40 billion dollars? Thats why they sold, sheesh.
By the way, the guy mentioned plenty of times hes tried getting ahold of SPRINT to deal with it but can't because their customer service sucks so bad.
I KNEW that'd happen.
...
Why did you switch to sprint? going from the 5th best to the 4th best, huh?? next u might want to try out cingular, oh oops, that'll be like going back to att. stop looking for the most anytime mins for your buck on print and switch to verizon and get the service you're wanting. porting does take 2, but at least sprint should follow up on it. i've had porting issues with att to vzw, but we resolved within 3 days. its not that bad. porting is alot smoother than i expected, you just pick 2 poor cust service carriers. good luck though
...
It has nothing to do with Customer Service in AT&T Wireless. The NEW provider is to take responsability for the port requests IN to their systems, AT&T Wireless does nothing but release the number! THATS ALL! Its the underlying systems TSI (which most providers used), and Nightfire, who AWS has a contract with, giving the problems. Do your research before spouting off on any providers.

Okay instead of insulting one carrier or another, try HELPING this guy, people!
