does anyone know if sprint is getting ready to release a new wave of phones before the holidays...???

phones such as the SPH-A640--- tmobile people can now get this phone in the form of the E715... even though the A640 was announced WAY BACK in march as a CDMA phone for the U.S. 😡

how about the fate of the T608... people on this board said it would be out very soon-- and that was mid-October... we're now near mid-November.

From what I was told by a very nice lady at the Sprint Call center I used to work at.. A memo had been sent out to the employee stating that the T608 was once again DELAYED.. But did not say for how long.. She said their seems to be some bad blood going on between sprint and SE.. Only time will tell..

Heck I say to hell with the T608 Lets let Sanyo to incorporate Bluetooth in THIER handsets. now THAT would be the Shizzy fo Rizzy!

Sprint is releasing many phones before the holidays. Lets see, Sanyo 5400, 5500, and 7200. Samsung A660. Two Audiovoxs. I think that is most of them. If there are more, Ill post. And with what Big Poppa said, T608 delayed, and will not be released in some markets when it does come out.

Hey spcsales or anyone else... do yall expect the 5500 to make it to bestbuy or any other secondary retailer by dec 9th?

I have a credit there otherwise I would buck it to a store. Its a longshot just thought I'd ask.

I have been checking our computers daily (Radio Shack) to see when the 5500 is added, but nothing yet. I doubt that it is coming anytime soon. I keep hearing that it probably won't be until January '04.

You may be right, but since this PTT thing has been the buzz for months now, and the phones are relatively easy to configure for ptt, it would appear that all of this would be introduced in the biggest, best selling season (xmas) if the year, not the traditionally worst selling season, just after Christmas---but then again what do I know, and in view of other terribly unbelievable sales blunders by all carriers, one could almost imagine that PTT would be introduced and they only have one phone to use with it(and not a great one either); can you say VERIZON.. But then again probably you and I aren't paid these 100's of millions to do this big thinking---and remember, the current trend is the bigger you screw up, the bigger the compensation...

The 5400 and 7200 are available right now but the ready-link svc launches on 11-16, the only places to get the phones in 2003 is either Radio Shack or a spcs store, no other outside retailer, prices are 299.99 for existing cust or 149.99 after instant rebate. the 5500 should be out by the end of the year. As for the T608, sprint isn't sure weather or not Bluetooth is a dead technology.

Chances are probably yes. But dont take my word for it. History shows that third party stores tend to get phones before the actual sprint stores do. We are expected to have ours by DEC 5th.
