Re: Consumer Reports 2012 Ratings of Wireless Providers
Sprint really kicked booty in Kansas City, but no surprise there ;-)
I was surprised that Boost was not rated at all in the prepaid section. Virgin Mobile was rated, but no mention of Boost anywhere. Especially perplexing given that Boost rates highly in the JD Power surveys, and to my knowledge only Boost has the "Shrinkage" bill-reduction feature for the consistently on-time payers. Also, Boost overall has a significant subscriber base, so I would have thought that Boost would be rated. For example, this year US Cellular's total subscriber base was around 6 million (albeit postpaid), Virgin Mobile's is roughly the same (5-6, million) while Boost has a total of over 13 million subscribers (11 million CDMA + 2.5 million iDEN). So if the CR survey included the 6 million subscribers of US Cellular, and the 5-6 million of Virgin Mobile, why wouldn't they also include a survey of 11-13 million Boose subscribers?
Am I missing something, or did CR miss something?
