Re: Premiere Question
Most likely it won't tick over until 1/1/12 when the new eligibility takes effect. Regardless of whether or not your account is noted, the upgrade would not be honored. Its not a matter of will/won't is a matter of can/can't. The system does not allow someone to select a price for a device that the account is not eligible for.
It always saddens me that people think verbal information is binding. Anything that is said over the phone can change at a moments notice. It also say in the terms and conditions for every Carrier that they reserve the right to make changes to the agreement.
The premier program is also something that was never guaranteed in the terms and conditions. It is completely separate and only existed as a courtesy.
No one from sprint corporate would ever tell you but the reason the Premier program went away is because of the iphone. I can almost guarantee that it will account for at least 30% of any smartphone on sprint going forward. Its price is also subsidized more than any other smartphone out there. This means that a carrier looses more money every time they sell an iphone than any other device.
To be completely honest, anything that has changed recently at sprint, can probably be safely blamed on the iphone. It makes perfect sense from sprints standpoint but the average consumer doesn't have the ability to understand this.
I don't say this as someone who works for a carrier, I say it as someone who knows how the system works and has the ability to analyze things.
