Since Sprint isnt partnering with ISIS, does that mean mobile payments arent in Sprints future? I'm asking because I am considering Sprint. I think Verizon is way, way overrated. And mobile payments is something very, very important to me that I expect to develope in the U.S. in the next 18 months.

Here is the article that lists the wireless carriers that are partnering with ISIS, Sprint isn't listed as one of the carriers.

Interesting question. I guess we'll have to wait and see - I hope Sprint won't pass on something as revolutionary as this.

And I hear you about Verizon - I just ported out yesterday, and I'm loving my new Evo Shift! 😁

I think Sprint is looking at it, I just don't remember which service/tech they are going with. Perhaps someone on the forum has the info?

Well, the whole world is going with NFC for mobile payment tech. I hope Sprint figures something out between now and summer of 2012. When mobile payments are suppose to take off.

Cause I think Verizon is way, way overrated. And I want to explore other options.

Here's Sprints news release on Mobile Wallet. It was announced approx 4 months ago. Don't know where they are with it yet. Hope this helps.

Well this was certainly something of an answer. But there was no mention of using NFC technology, so I kinda wonder. But the news headline did say mobile wallet would be able to be used for physical purchases, not just online, so that's good.

So other than the $69.99/mo plan, can you tell me anything else that is different about Sprint that is appealing?

I am researching Sprint, I think Verizon is way, way overrated.

IMO, there are a lot of things up in the air with Sprint right now. It's Network Vision Initiative sounds promising since it will improve coverage and give them a leg up when they finally switch to LTE, but that's still approx 2 years down the road to completion. Sprint has irritated a lot of its fan base with the new Premium Data Fee and reworking it's Premier program, But Verizon has done similar things as well.

Still, Sprint is cheaper than Verizon (at least for my plan) but with the data increase, Sprints more comparable with AT&T. T-Mo is still the value leader.

IMO, Sprints issue is since they are now competitive price wise with the big two, they need to really step up their phone selection. Perhaps they will roll out trucklo...

Probably what I would be interested in would be a follow up smartphone to the Epic. Hopefully with dual-core processor.
I'm one of those people who HAS to have a keyboard.

The very earliest I would switch over would be January. Right now I am just doing some research.

I know one thing that differentiates Sprint is that Aprint Tv, that's cool.

Your in luck. If it's one thing Sprint likes is smartphones with keyboards.

Epic, Evo Shift, Pixi, Curve 3g, Curve 8530, Intercept, Style, Transform, Tour, Bold, ES400S and finally the Arrive.

They only have 4 that are 100% touchscreen.

I am so, so anti all touch phones!

Well I look forward to finding out the specs for the follow-up to the Epic. I'm sure it'll be a while though. It better have dual-core processors, and no less than 1gb of internal memory!

Which I dislike for their bulk and weight.

And none of them world phones, which is why Sprint may soon lose me to VZ. I've been with Sprint a long time and I don't like it, but if they don't have an acceptable phone, what choice am I left with?

Mobile payments can be not just for NFC contact less payments but you can utilize mobile credit card processing for most of the major smartphones. I'm not sure about all of the mobile card readers but I know we are compatible with most here - http://www.switchpay.com

Well, I think it would be more profitable to partner with ODIN.
