Sprints number chaning system

SO THEY SAY you can only change your number 3x per billing cycle, but indeed that is a lie. JUst in 2 days, Ive changed my number 40x or more, bc I never get a number I like. Yes i have a problem with my number, if i dont get a number I like, I dnt want it. and I want it changed again and again, and Ive had 2 sprint reps who've changed my number more than 3x, more than 20-30x each a piece!! SO why do you tell customers they can only change it 3x a billing a cycle when other reps dont care!! Just dumb people following rules!!

Another question is why is one day the phone numbers will begin with 202-xxxx and another day the phone numbers will begin with 759? how does this number change system work?

Just dumb people following rules!!

That's why it's called RULES. 🙄 One has to follow certain rules if they don't wanna lose their job. Since when is it dumb to follow rules? 🙄

I don't know how Customer Care works but lucky for you if you're able to get what you wanted. I sure hope you're one happy, satisfied demanding customer.

yes i always get my way! it is dumb if the rule is stupid, and obviously not all sprints reps agree with the rules.

The reason they dont want you changing your number a million times is because once you change your number, the old number goes into the system but cant be used for 90 days and keep people who need a number in that market from getting one if they are all used up. So, if you keep changing yoru numbers like that, the system will recognize where the hold up is coming from and block you from doing it! FInd a number you like before you cant change it anymore!

It can cause a backlog, especially in larger markets, that can cause phone activations for all users in the area to lag if the activation involves a network change. Also, the numbers themselves can get backed up, so even though the reps seem to go through 10+ numbers rather quickly, the system still has to slowly switch your line of service through each and every one of the numbers that you landed on before finally settling on the last one, which can cause issues with your service.

(('You' was not meant to be direct, I typed it, realized what I typed, and then decided it was too much work to fix.))

And to answer your question...the reason the prefix changed is because some idiot (im looking at you) changed their number a s**t ton of times and we ran out. Now those 80 numbers you've had get recycled and cant be used for another 6 mnths. Good job burning thru an entire prefix of numbers due to some misplaced sense of entitlement and a bad case of OCD. smh

I'm a little confused. Why don't you ask what numbers are available and then choose from those? Or why don't you ask if they have a specific number available. It seems like a big waste of time to me.

I would do that, it would definately be easier, but sprints number changing system is lame and it can't do that unlike tmobiles or us cellulars. If you could choose your own number and it wasn't randomly selected, yea then sprint wouldn't have that problem. Its stupid and pointless to have the system choose a number. Some people like to pick their number. I would if I could but unfortunatley I can't!

For you..the apparently very uninformed. How it works is the FCC hands out blocks of numbers to each carrier. For example...Sprint gets 924 prefix, Verizon gets 578..etc. If you call Sprint and say i want a 578 number, we say no, its impossible..very simple. If people were allowed to just pick their numbers it would be chaos...lone idiots like yourself are no reason to change a perfectly good system. We used to let people choose from a list of numbers however most markets now have too many ppl for that to realistically work well also. So they are randomly generated..which is fine for 99.9% of ppl, again no reason to change the system for the .1% of idiots (see yourself).

I didnt ask for your opinion, bc I frankly don't give a f*$@ what you have to say. Dont waste your breath. I can do whatever the hell I want when I want. The things I have gotten away with through sprint countless times. AHH. Yea I know. You wish you could get your way too. Thats the only reason I stay a customer bc I get the loyalty treatment. Ahh its soo great!!!

Spoiled little rich girl. Sorry to tell you this but it will catch up to you. They put notes into accounts for a reason. Eventually they will no longer allow bill credits, number changes, loyalty plans, etc. They will want you to go away.
Nobody has wasted their breath because they have spoken truthfully. If you are being truthful you are a very pitiful individual. But I bet you are just a troll. So what is it? Are you pitiful or a troll?

IM REAL! BELIEVE IT HUNNIE! ALWAYS BEEN SPOILED, ALWAYS WILL! Good if they ever do make me "go away"! I wont pay a termination fee! AHAHHA!!! No im just smart and I know how to get away with what I do!, but if sprint or asurion really cared, they would've done something about it 2 years ago. my friend put a evo esn on their account and reported it stolen and got 2 evos for 100. they told asurion the first one they sent had a cracked screen and sent another one. they kept them both, and they didnt get charged for it, bc they said they sent it back and must have gotten lost in the mail. TO EASY!!! Not my fault the company is dumb and to stupid to do anything about it. They can't really prove anything anyways!

ok this is the biggest troll thread 🤣 🤣 🤣 in the first place the evo is a wait of 7 - 10 days for you to receive it so it would be 20 days wait time and also there is a non returned fee of 500.00, 500.00 because sprint is not responsible if the mail lost it I have talked with thousands of customers and at the end the customer ask for a payment arrangement 🤣 🤣 🤣

Well you'd better hope you don't call me, because you get no more than 3 chances at a number. If you don't like the 3rd one, that's too bad. And how is it dumb to follow the rules? Wouldn't it be much dumber to lose my job for not following company policy?

Yup, I'm sure you have the power to fire any employee at will. Did Dan Hesse send a hand-written letter stating that the representative you spoke to has been terminated as you requested? No, I don't figure you've got nearly that much power...

Yup...i've seen first hand where customers are told "oh yeah this person is getting fired" just to get them to shut up. Especially if the employee has a good track record, a single douche bag customer could never get an employee fired.

If this is really a sprint customer on this post than I feel bad for the reps that get her. She will be shut down soon I am sure of it and when she is she will be cancelled and hope she has fun paying the ETF. I am sure her account is thoroughly notated about how big of a pest she is. RIDICULOUS.
