Switching to Sprint soon...
I will finally be leaving T-Mobile soon, and leaning towards choosing Sprint over ATT as my new carrier.
Any reason not to go with Sprint?
My city currently does not have 4G, but the EVO looks great.

The real question is whether you'd actually like to be able to hold onto a phone call. I've said for years now that i-Phone is junk and AT&T is worse. EVO is a good device and I think Android will win the OS wars, but I don't know that it's worth the extra $10 per month you'll pay if you don't have 4G in your area.
I'm still holding onto my old Instinct which does everything I need while waiting for a few more Android devices to surface.

I just checked out ATT's website, and looks like their plans are higher than Sprint's.
Any complaints with your service, customer service, rate plans, etc?

Customer service at Sprint used to be the worst out there. I hated it, but the quality of the cell service kept me around. Now customer service is top notch and they'll do anything within reason to keep you happy.
I travel regularly and have not had any real problems with Sprint's service anywhere I've gone.

Exactly...even with the extra $10 for the EVO, Sprint is $10 to $30 a mnth cheaper than any At&t iphone plan. Give it a shot with the 30 day risik free trial period.

I've keep re-newing my contract with T-Mobile,
but i figure I should go ahead, and break my contract and join sprint. So i was looking at the $69 plan. If minutes are un-limited why would i need nights to start at 7:00pm? Is that in regards to the 450 landline minutes?
I would switch today if I got this 27% discount, haha.

yeah that plan comes with 450min for land lines but unlimited calls for cell phones. night and weekends help save min so you dont use all your 450 min. you can get that discount. they dont check on it. you just have to call in and say it. so come on over 😎

Actually you are wrong, about a month and a half ago sprint NVP changed the rules, they are actually verifying employment and a back office team is going through all accounts with a NVP Discount cleaning up. Also they are requiring current customers that add a new NVP to sign a new two year contract.

I dont understand why people get upset about contract renewals if a company is giving you something. If they say we will give you a 25% Discount and all you need to do is sign a new agreement thats understandable. either you do it or you dont, you wanna save money up the contract as simple as that.

A little clarity to the plan descriptions: When they say unlimited minutes to cell phones, what they are saying is that the Sprint plan comes with a feature called, "Any Mobile Any Time to Any Carrier." This is VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD just as the name suggests. Like with any carrier's case, the M2M Minutes are only applicable when calling from on the Carrier's ...

I just swtiched to Sprint last month after being with Verizon for 9 years. not only is my service comparable with Verizon I have had no lost calls or any problems at all. Ihave had to roam on Verizon in the Tunnel coming out of Penn Station but that is it. Speed on the internet is great (I have the Evo) so I am getting comparable service for a lot less $$$ (my savings with fam plan is over $60 a month!)
Customer service has been great! Much much better than I would have expected. Having done research for work, on carriers I was worried about that since Sprint was always the worst when it came to the comments I saw about customer service.

I was reading reviews for the EVO on cnet.com yesterday. People were complaining about paying $10 a month when they do not even have 4G in their city. Also people were talking about some $30 a month charge?
Also read a comment from a user that said Sprint would pay a termination fee from another carrier up to $150???

I am currently on T-Mobile, have a BlackBerry and am paying $39.99 for 1050 minutes, and $34.99 for unlimited text and internet.
With tax about $86-$87 a month.
If I switch to Sprint, get the $69.99 plan, I am assuming to pay about $78 a month?
The plus side is, I would have UNLIMITED minutes to any cell carrier. I hardly call land lines, so not worried about the 450mins there (free after 7 and free on weekends).

The 30 dollars is 29.99 for the Wifi hot spot service that the Evo offers. The Evo has the ability to connect up to 8 devices on it and get those devices online using Wifi. It's an optional charge but worth it if you ask me. I haven't heard anything about Sprint paying a termination fee for another carrier at all. That would be sweet. 😁

While the complaints maybe legitimate, take note at the same time that the 3G works far faster on the Evo compared to say the HTC Hero. This is partially due to the heavier more powerful HW Specs of the Evo as well. This doesn't necessarily justify that $10 extra per month but do realize that the 3G on a phone like the Hero and Samsung Moment is slower tha...
