Greetings! I need advice on the best basic CDMA flip phone for Sprint. It needs to be a handset which does not require a data or messaging plan. Thanks in advance...

In my opinion, I think the Sanyo 3810 is by far the best flip phone out for Sprint right now. The battery life is fantastic, the reception is great and overall its just a killer phone.

I saw this one in the Sprint store. I also saw the M240. I wasn't sure which was better. Thanks I will go with the 3810.

The Moto V950e. It is back on their lineup and an excellent phone. Direct Connect can be added to this phone at no extra cost, or not.

As far as just a good quality basic phone goes? You might get lucky once and a while but a motorola won't get the reception of a Sanyo, plus the Sanyo is cheaper if he just needs a basic phone.

I totally disagree. Motos are known for great RF, better even than Sanyos.

Basically a Wal-Mart product. Sanyo is Korean for "lousy electronics."

Sanyo has better reception than Motorola? What planet do you come from? Sanyos may be better than Life's Garbage in that department, but they'll never touch a Motorola.

Sanyo! Ha ha ha! That's a Wal-Mart brand line, like Faded Glory.

Anyone who is the least bit familiar with Sprint or been around more than 3 mnths knows Sanyos have always gotten the best reception as far as regular phones go.

i was on another forum talking about the hero... so that should have been *since they have been made by kyocera. 3810 is a good little handset, but not what the old sanyo's were.

I just pulled up the V950. I would not call that a basic flip phone by any stretch. That is too much phone for my aunt.

Well...I wouldn't buy a Sanyo either if the phone were for my use. I am looking for a phone for my aunt though. I do think that we will get her the SCP-3810.
