Moment is plain android, Hero has HTC Sense UI that I have heard ppl RAVE about. I prefer the Hero, but I like the physical keyboard, so its a toss up for me.

Please turn off the caps lock.

Second... Both Android and Palm are solid OS's. Little more "oomph" behind Android so will likely be more/better apps, but both have app stores with all the needed stuff in em.

If you go Android, I'd suggest the Moment. I like it's look/feel better personally - and the Hero doesn't have a face sensor which is a killer for me.

Hero has better Picture quality. I also like the touch flo screen and it has 7 customizable screens versus the 3 on the moment. Plus the HTC widgets are nice.

Picture quality is meh to me. I have a 3MP camera on my current phone and it's more than good enough. If I need more, I'll get a... camera 😛

For the customizable screens - you can install stuff that'll give you more than the standard 3. On the droid at work, for example, I have something installed that gives 5.

I'd have to mess around, but I"m sure the same can be said for the widgets. Anything I want to use (or find new that's cool) should be installable on other android phones, thanks to the Market.

Touch Flo might be a good thing, never messed with it.

But for me... as I mentioned earlier, the phones are comparable and the difference boils down to the sensor.

Hero doesn't have it.

Thus when you make a call, and bring t...

Not sure about Touchflo, but the Hero's 5MP isn't a huge difference unless you blow the pictures up on a computer. I have the Moment, and my girlfriend the Hero, and we compared the photos between our screens; no visible difference. We had to put them on a computer and enlarge them to tell, and in that case, the Hero was better.

I like the Moment's full keyboard, and there are applications to increase the number of screens you have available. Moment has all of the widgets that the Hero (or any Android phone, really) has access to.

So, Moment takes my vote.

aren't the end of the world.

They may be nice (haven't tried) but I can do everything I need to do on the Droid I get to play with at work - and the Moment should be no different.

I'm not saying they are a game changer, i am just stating a difference between the two. Its not my fault he was unable to comprehend what i wrote.

Hero all the way. Moment has a nice screen and faster processor but it's too plain and bulky. HTC's Sense UI enhances the Android experience. The only reason I'd choose Moment over Hero if you were hellbent on a real keyboard. If not, Hero's the way to go.

Remind me again, which HTC widgets is there not a duplicate of available in the Android marketplace?

Because, my Moment is rocking the HTC analog clock right now... 😎
